We had a very strong summer here at ComponentSource and in August we again beat our sales record - previously set back in March 2006. In general sales in North America and Asia/Pacific were very strong indeed, with Europe doing well considering it was a major holiday month. What is making these sales grow? Well most of it is down to good execution on our marketing strategies for your products. When you send us a major new release, with new pricing - we make sure we tell our Web site users immediately about that new release. Then we tell our opt-in email newsletter recipients about the new release too, plus if you are an existing customer for that product or if you have been a previous evaluator - we will probably advise you of the new release too and the new features that are in the new version. So make sure you keep on sending us the latest new releases of your products in a timely manner and you will get the most from our marketing engine. If you have any questions about this please email: harryk@componentsource.com
We are often asked by our publishers what are the hot new areas of interest for our customers. The good news is we publish this information on our Web site for everyone to see. You can monitor our Top Downloads https://www.componentsource.com/topdownloads/index.html to see when users are starting to look at new product areas. For example products that provide the new look and feel of Office 2007 or Vista are being downloaded now in high numbers. Likewise to see where the real hard $$$$ are being spent you can look at our Bestsellers https://www.componentsource.com/bestsellers/index.html to see the products that are gaining most traction in the market. This year AJAX and ASP.NET products have made strong inroads and advanced up this best seller list. What areas will be hot soon? Well Atlas looks set to be an important area in the not too distant future and support for Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) will be critical too. Customers are already asking us about product futures - so having a roadmap published on your Web site might be a good idea - so that people know where you are going. It also helps stop customers abandoning your product in favour of another one - as they know you will be catering for their new needs shortly. If you have any questions about this please email: harryk@componentsource.com
