SAVE-IT Process is a mature documented process designed to identify and assign value to an organization's assets providing a detailed forecast on potential cost avoidance through asset reuse. At the end of the process the organization is able to run a self-sufficient Asset Management Center (AMC).

A mature documented process, this is designed to work with customers at any level of reuse maturity and maps out and implements the organizational model for reuse to be successful across the company. SAVE-IT Process notably incorporates five years of research, development and implementation through broad engagement with companies in finance, government and telecom sectors. The tried and tested process comprises of ComponentSource's open market commercial reuse model and best practices coupled with additional intellectual property from Castek Inc's reuse business group.

Delivered through a three-phase structured series of workshops, it aligns the IT groups that produce software assets and the business units that consume assets inside of the organization and may be layered on top of existing development methodology such as the Rational Unified Process (RUP). Moreover it identifies and assigns value to the organization's assets providing a detailed forecast on potential cost avoidance through asset reuse. At the end of the process the organization is able to run a self-sufficient Asset Management Center.
