A fully integrated accounting package. Accounting Office is a fully integrated, SQL based accounting package with a complete suite of accounting functions. It has been developed using the most up to date object orientated technology, based upon open standards. As a COM object, it can easily be programmed from any development environment that supports COM. This could include writing a Macro in another VBA enabled application such as Word, Excel or Access, writing a program in Visual Basic or calling Accounting Office from any other development environment supporting COM such as Borland's Delphi. Accounting Office is a fully integrated, SQL based accounting package with a complete suite of accounting functions. It has been developed using the most up to date object orientated technology, based upon open standards. The Enterprise Development Toolkit (DTK) delivers the accounting source code to the Visual Basic user interface of Accounting Office. This allows you to modify and integrate the application with complete freedom.

Accounting Office provides support to business across such diverse sectors as distribution, importation, manufacturing, currency transfer, Epos and more. Accounting Office is scalable from a single user up and can be quickly installed.
As a fully integrated accounting package, Accounting Office is a complete suite of accounting functions including nominal, sales and purchase ledger, stock control, sales and purchase order processing, complete Euro functionality all of which can be customized.
Accounting Office has full multi-currency support with built-in EC VAT compliance. Dual base currencies provide full Euro support. The purchase order system automatically displays contact names, telephone numbers, preferred suppliers, supplier references at account and item level, and tracks and reminds the lowest buy price. Full flexibility allows complete tracking and control over the order process. Invoices can be reconciled with orders and goods received quickly and easily, including multi-order invoices.
Stock control is fully integrated. Stock is posted to the ledger as it is received, with picking lists for outstanding sales orders being updated automatically. Stock received but not invoiced is automatically accrued. The accrual is automatically reversed when the invoice is posted. Stock items may be allocated to any number of categories. Stock items have ninety nine price bands with default pricing either by margin or discount set separately for each category.
Sales Order Processing has fully automated stock allocation, with optional automatic picking. Controlled release of service items allows service suppliers to set up a billing profile following contract agreement and release invoices as they fall due. Batch-numbered stock items may be tracked from order to sale. Stock ageing at consignment level allows reporting of obsolescent stock.
Licensing
Accounting Office is available in two versions; a run-time compiled application for end users and a DTK for developers. These are supplied under a renewable license.
The DTK is also supplied under a renewable license which includes the support contract.
Developers will need Infragistics Data Widgets to use the DTK and the reporting is done using Crystal and Accounting Offices own report writer, OpenDoor.
Developers can leverage the application in two ways. Firstly, it can be used as a reporting engine by passing in information from an existing application using Accounting Office’s detailed object model. This gives the integration a high degree of controllability and data integrity. The integration is very tight and reliable. In passing the information between the systems, the application will need to log on as a user, which will take up a user license, and then log off once the transaction has completed. Alternatively, a developer key can be provided which will allow the external application to be logged on permanently. This is a chargeable as an extra user.
The second way the platform can be leveraged is to take the DTK and modify the front end. At a low level, boxes can be removed and labels changed. At a higher level, new forms, objects and functionality can be written and incorporated.

To deploy a developed application, developers create their own compiled version of the software and when it is rolled out, the application will need licensing to the end user at the license costs indicated. To license a non-standard front end, the system needs to be given a different type of release key which is called an Enterprise Key.
