Conveniently and quickly view images from the SharePoint document library. Virto Image Slideshow Web Part is fully compatible with both SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010 and supports all graphic formats. To set up the web part just specify a document list that will serve as a data source for the images to display in a slideshow. You can also adjust the slideshow style, choosing visual and transition effects, transition speed, display order (random or ordered), image descriptions, width and height of the screen.

Data Source Settings

You can select the SharePoint site where you want to take pictures from. Then select a Document Library where the pictures for future slideshow are stored. It is possible to select a view for slideshow. For example, mark several pictures in the document library and select “Selected Pictures” view. Only marked pictures will be displayed in the slideshow. You can filter the displayed pictures by filling out the “Search for” field. For example enter *.jpg and the system will show only .jpg files.

The web part settings allow you to display different information when you click any picture from your slideshow. For example, create a field called “Picture Url” in the source list and select it in the “Field Url” dropdown for the slide show.

Image Options

You can define preferences for pictures. You can define width and height of the pictures. However the picture will be displayed according to the set Stretch mode:

Fit – pictures will be scaled according to original proportions;

Fill – pictures will be stretched to set size. If a picture is smaller than defined size, it will be stretched to reach the defined size. If a picture is larger, only part of it will be stretched.

None – picture will be cut

It is also possible to use coloured background when showing pictures that are displayed in “Fit” mode. Enter hex code of required colour in “Background colour” field.
