IBM Rational patches PurifyPlus

IBM Rational PurifyPlus is a runtime analysis solution designed to help developers write faster, more reliable code. Runtime analysis includes four basic functions: memory corruption detection, memory leak detection, application performance profiling, and code coverage analysis. IBM Rational PurifyPlus packages support for all four of these functions in a single product with a common install and licensing system.

Updates in 7.0.1

• Installation of PurifyPlus is now accomplished using the IBM Installation Manager. Links to documentation about Installation Manager are available during the installation and via the Installation Manager Programs->IBM Installation Manager menus after installation.
• Samples of both managed and unmanaged code services have been added to the product.
• Discontinued support for the following:
  • Java memory and performance profiling in Purify and Quantify. Java will continue to be supported in PureCoverage.
  • IDE integrations with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Visual Studio .NET 2003.
