• AdminStudio V9.5 Expands Support for Windows 7 Migrations
  AdminStudio V9.5 brings advancements to AdminStudio Windows 7 support. AdminStudio V9.5 includes better capture of installations for a Windows 7 OS, including enhanced exclusion lists. The AdminStudio Repackager is vital for converting legacy installations (such as EXEs or Wise installers) into standard Windows Installer packages.  For Windows 7 projects, the AdminStudio Repackager is important for converting older packages into MSIs that will run on Windows 7 and for new applications, creating packages that will run on Windows 7. AdminStudio helps ensure Windows 7 application compatibility, repackages applications with the flexibility to support many deployment formats, hands off completed packages to popular deployment systems for distribution, and manages a repeatable process.  AdminStudio V9.5 also incorporates MSI 5.0, which many organizations will use as a standard for Windows 7 migration.
• AdminStudio V9.5 Accelerates Application Virtualization Migrations
  AdminStudio can prepare those applications for deployment on today’s leading application virtualization systems. AdminStudio V9.5 supports the latest releases of the leading application virtualization products: Microsoft App-V 4.6 and VMware ThinApp 4.0.3. General enhancements to the AdminStudio V9.5 support for application virtualization migrations also include easier packaging of traditionally challenging applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite 3 and 4. AdminStudio is able to create a standard, repeatable process for creating virtual packages of applications that are oftentimes challenging to prepare using the native Microsoft App-V Sequencer. Because AdminStudio automatically looks for all of the required information about an installation, there aren’t any valuable steps left out in preparing the application for virtual deployment.
• AdminStudio V9.5 powered by InstallShield 2010
  AdminStudio is now powered by InstallShield 2010. InstallShield is a solution for authoring high-quality Windows Installer and InstallScript installations, plus App-V software packages. InstallShield 2010, the basis for the AdminStudio Editor, brings support for Windows 7 and App-V installations as well as MSI 5.

Updates in AdminStudio V9.5 with Virtualization Pack

• External Shortcut Support for Microsoft App-V
  Support external shortcuts, such as plug-ins, for Microsoft App-V packages.
• Create a Portable “Wrapper MSI”
  For Microsoft App-V build outputs, a Windows Installer “wrapper” can be generated and used to deploy the App-V package on the App-V client. The wrapper MSI is portable and can be more easily moved from one network location to another.
• Microsoft App-V Support
  For Microsoft App-V customers, AdminStudio now supports the conversion of MSI and .EXEs to the SFT format used by Microsoft App-V. AdminStudio V9.5 supports App-V version 4.6.
• VMware ThinApp Support
  For VMware ThinApp™ customers, AdminStudio now supports the latest version of the VMware application virtualization product, version 4.0.3 as well as the previous Thinstall Virtualization Suite 3.2.
