ePublisher Platform is for writing groups that convert and deliver their online content. The Designer Plan consist of two components, ePublisher Pro for developing the look and feel of your online deliverables, and ePublisher Express for on-demand testing and quality assurance. The ePublisher Pro component is used to create, maintain, and deploy your ePublisher Stationery. The ePublisher Non-Designer Plan includes the ePublisher Express component that is used by your content developers to run reports, proof online output and deliver final online content. The ePublisher Platform Server is for writing groups that have frequent updates of their online content, would like to integrate online help deliverables into a software build, or want to utilize the power of a content management system. The ePublisher Server package gives full access to the powerful and flexible ePublisher AutoMap component.

Updates in 2009.4

2009.4 is a maintenance release which includes the following bug fixes:

  • Fixed: FrameMaker: Better error reporting when version specified not on system
    ePublisher fails conversions when requested to process FrameMaker documents with an unavailable version. There is no further notice given to the user other than a failure during "Duplicate Document and Apply Settings".
  • Fixed: Confluence: Indent levels render with bullet
    Indent approach using native Confluence markup leads to render issues.
  • Fixed: Confluence: Can't emit paragraph with autonumber in Confluence
    ePublisher did not provide an option to preserve autonumber text specified in source documents.
  • Fixed: Confluence: 'Pre' causes paragraph output to be emitted "pass through"
    Confluence format incorrect escapes characters which do not require special handling.
  • Fixed: MediaWiki: Deployment to alternate ports fails
    Deployment client incorrectly dropped port specification from wiki URL.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: FrameMaker adapter emits incorrect border information
    Borders not present in the source FrameMaker document are showing up in generated ePublisher output.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: FrameMaker adapter doesn't handle tabs in index markers properly
    Index markers with tabs (\t) rendered as "t"s in result.
  • Fixed: WebWorks Help 5.0: Patch security issue in legacy WebWorks Help 5.0 files
    All shipping legacy format libraries (9.2.2 - 2009.3) now include security patches.
  • Fixed: Confluence: Spaces in index entries break links
    Leading whitespace throws off the Confluence parser.
  • Fixed: Confluence: Reference to {cloak} markup hides content
    Development attempts to use the {cloak} macro to simulate drop downs in Confluence were removed from the shipping product except for drop down end behaviors.
  • Fixed: WebWorks Help 5.0: Set correct release version in "version.htm"
    The cross-site scripting issue against WebWorks Help 5.0 was difficult to patch in deployed help sets due to the lack of valid version information.
  • Fixed: ePublisher: Updated icons for Show Customization folders
    Improved consistency with ePublisher look and feel.
  • Fixed: ePublisher: Preview feature crashing Pro
    Customers submitted crash reports against ePublisher 2009.3 which demonstrate a failure in the Preview operation.
  • Fixed: PDF XSL-FO: MiniTOCs do not show up
    Format definition file specifies the wrong TOC data file types.
  • Fixed: DITA: Option to configure "All DITA topics must exist" shows enabled, actually disabled
    The control was inconsistent between the UI presentation and conversion behavior.
  • Fixed: ePublisher: Last active target not restored on project open
    Project UI configuration not restored when the last project was opened.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: Blank images appearing in place of some equations
    FrameMaker fails to update image layout for equation frames.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: ePublisher restarts FrameMaker when correct version already running
    ePublisher launches multiple FrameMaker instances during the conversion process.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: Conditional text in images not set correctly
    Conditional settings not applied to images during rasterization process.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: Gracefully handle FrameMaker crashes during image generation
    ePublisher fails to restart FrameMaker and likewise fails image generation for all succeeding images.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: Crash when navigating to report entry linked to FrameMaker documents
    ePublisher fails to protect against invalid IDs in generated reports, leading to a crash when a view is requested.
  • Fixed: ePublisher: Failure creating Express projects from read-only Stationery
    ePublisher correctly handles synchronization of read-only files from Stationery. However, it fails to unset a read-only flag on a newly created project if the source Stationery included a read-only flag.
  • Fixed: FrameMaker: Images not processed from source FrameMaker document
    Pattern used to locate image frames was overly strict, resulting in image attribute assignment failures.
