Microsoft release Visual Studio 2012 Update 1

This update provides bug fixes and new features to support development on the latest platforms, updates to modern application lifecycle management tools and performance enhancements for teams. All versions of VS 2012 can be updated but many of the enhanced functionality features are targeted primarily for users of the Ultimate and Premium versions of Visual Studio. Update 1 targets 4 main areas:-

Windows Development

• Added new templates, designers, testing and debugging tools for Windows 8 and Windows Store Applications.
• Native debugging of ARM applications is now available.
• Visual C++ developers can again target native C++ applications for Windows XP.

SharePoint Development

• Added enhanced lifecycle tools for SharePoint 2010 for testing and quality assurance. 
• Simulate user interaction with Unit test and code UI tests.
• Full load and stress testing is now available.
• Capture SharePoint logging information using IntelliTrace and analyze the capabilities of SharePoint applications.

Agile Development

• Team Foundation Server Web interface has been improved with source viewing and diff enhancements.
• Kanban support has been added with Kanban boards and cumulative flow diagrams to the server. 
• Code Maps let you create and view dynamic views of code to comprehend and navigate relationships.

Continuous Quality

• Test Manager has been updated for manual testing and supports cross-browser testing with the ability to record web tests in IE and then later replay those tests with most browsers. 
• Code Coverage tests are available for manual testing which allows you to analyze areas of your code used during manual testing.
