Review Assistant released

Review Assistant helps you manage review requests without leaving Visual Studio. Peer code review helps improve code quality and ship software with less defects. Review Assistant helps you to automate the process with minimum overhead. It is targeted at developers who use Visual Studio but it also integrates with Team Foundation Server (TFS), Git, Subversion (SVN) and Mercurial (Hg).

Code Discussion

• Add comments at review level or specific source code lines.
• Initiate threaded code discussions with your team members without scheduled meetings.
• Mark comments and defects that need to be fixed.

Instant Switching from Review to Editing

• Just click a comment on the review board, jump to the code editor and you are ready to fix bugs.

Review Comments

• When you re-work your code after review, you can see review comments next to the code in the editor. You edit the code, mark comments as closed and they disappear from the editor.

Incremental Review

• Have several iterations within the same reviews context.

Source Control Clients

• Connect to external version control clients with Review Assistant using Code Compare.

Flexible Workflow

• Only necessary review states are supported.
• Three main roles are author, reviewer and moderator (optional).
