PurifyPlus adds support for Windows 7

IBM Rational PurifyPlus v7.0.1 now provides support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

IBM Rational PurifyPlus is an award-winning dynamic software analysis solution designed to help developers write faster, more reliable code. It includes four capabilities packaged into a single product: 1) Memory debugging (pinpoints hard to find memory errors such as uninitialized memory access, buffer overflow and improper freeing of memory), 2) Memory leak detection (identifies memory blocks that no longer have a valid pointer), 3) Performance profiling: (highlights application performance bottlenecks and improves application understanding with a graphical representation of function calls) and 4) Code coverage (identifies untested code with line-level precision).

Updates in V7.0.1.0-001

This interim fix resolves defects in IBM Rational PurifyPlus for Windows v7.0.1.0 and provides support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

IBM Rational PurifyPlus is a runtime analysis solution designed to help developers write faster, more reliable code. Runtime analysis includes four basic functions: memory corruption detection, memory leak detection, application performance profiling, and code coverage analysis. IBM Rational PurifyPlus packages support for all four of these functions in a single product with a common install and licensing system.

Updates in 7.0.1

Installation of PurifyPlus is now accomplished using the IBM Installation Manager. Links to documentation about Installation Manager are available during the installation and via the Installation Manager Programs->IBM Installation Manager menus after installation.
Samples of both managed and unmanaged code services have been added to the product.
Discontinued support for the following:
- Java memory and performance profiling in Purify and Quantify. Java will continue to be supported in PureCoverage.
- IDE integrations with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Visual Studio .NET 2003.
