Add toolbars with complete runtime customization to your applications. ActiveBar 3.0 delivers Microsoft Office and Visual Studio toolbars, menus, and dockable windows emulation in an easy-to-use ActiveX control with several improvements since ActiveBar 2.0. New features include Microsoft Office 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 styles, GDI+ support, a Navigation Bar ChildBand style, and two new customize mode events. ActiveBar 3.0 removes the limitations of system menus and toolbars and allows you to provide complete run-time customization and personalize environments in your applications.

ActiveBar includes menus, context menus, toolbars, tabbed toolbars, shortcut bars, detachable toolboxes and status bars. It provides dockable forms and allows ActiveX controls to be hosted on toolbars. ActiveBar also provides a status bar that supports a variety of panel types (Date, Time, Ins, CAPS, NUM, and SCRL). Support for saving and loading layouts for run-time use or for creating shared tool libraries is also included.

ActiveBar features a unique WYSIWYG designer that works directly on your forms, a Menu Grabber to capture complete menus from running applications, and an Icon Designer that provides large and small icon support.

The changes in ActiveBar 3.0 allow for the accommodation of new styles not supported in ActiveBar 2.0.

New GDI+ Support - To respond to the overwhelming requests from our customers for transparencies, gradient colors in Tools and Bands, and 32-bit images, ActiveBar 3.0 now supports GDI+. When applicable, ActiveBar 3.0 utilizes themes from the client system. Because ActiveBar 3.0 synchronizes themes with the client system, when distributing applications, include the gdiplus.dll file in the distribution for older operating systems that do not include GDI+ support.

New FloatingToolbarFadeDelay property - This property allows Floating toolbars to fade from view when inactive (accepts values from 0 to 100000 milliseconds).

New Opacity property - The Band object has a new Opacity property that accepts an integer value from 1 to 100.

New ToolbarStyle Enumeration - This enumeration takes the place of the XPLook property. The ActiveBar 3.0 painting logic depends on this property. Users can now change the ToolbarStyle at run time.

New NavigationBar ChildBandStyle - Add a Navigation bar to your applications like the Navigation bar in Microsoft Outlook 2003.

New Bubbles GrabHandleStyle - This new GrabHandleStyle was added to coordinate with the new Office 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 ToolbarStyles.

New CustomizeToolAdded Event - This new event fires when the user drops a tool from the customize dialog onto a band.

New CustomizeLargeIconChange Event - This new event fires fires when the user selects the Large Icon check box in the Customize dialog. Users can select this check box when they want to change the icon image sizes in an application from 16x16 twips to 32x32 twips.
