Easily incorporate file upload and download functionality into your applications with a single component. Catalyst File Transfer control combines FTP and HTTP functionality into one component and supports both standard and secure connections. Implement the standard protocols for sending and receiving files over the Internet and corporate intranets without using multiple controls or writing additional code to interface different components. This single ActiveX control has no external dependencies on third-party libraries, can be used in a wide variety of programming languages, and incorporates the standard SSL, PCT and TLS security protocols.

Catalyst File Transfer 6.0 has been released and offers developers exciting new features, improved performance and full compatibility with the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 operating systems. The version 6.0 components are compatible with version 4.0 and 5.0 and support side-by-side deployment, simplifying the upgrade process so that you can spend your time improving your software, not rewriting it.
The Catalyst File Transfer control provides a single interface for sending and receiving files. For most applications, this is the only control that will be needed to upload and download. However, in some cases a program may require the advanced features of a specific SocketTools control, such as posting a query to a web server. In this situation, the File Transfer control can be seamlessly integrated with the other SocketTools controls to build a more complex solution that requires a greater degree of customization.
In addition to supporting standard FTP and HTTP connections, the File Transfer Control also supports secure SSL and TLS connections. By simply setting a few properties, a secure connection using 128-bit encryption can be established, providing your application with the greatest flexibility and highest level of security available. Even advanced options such as client certificates are seamlessly supported.
The control is implemented as a standard COM object and is designed to be used in visual development tools as well as various scripting environments. Any programming language which can host ActiveX controls or create instances of a COM object should be capable of using the File Transfer control, such as Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual FoxPro and Delphi. Server and client-side scripting is also supported using languages such as VBScript and JScript. The control is completely self-contained and does not require developers to redistribute the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) or Visual C runtime libraries, nor any other third-party library.
