ComponentArt Web.UI 2008.1 release introduces one new control: Upload for ASP.NET

Streamlined skinning mechanism skins are now defined through a series of "widget" user controls

Grid, TreeView, Menu, TabStrip, ToolBar, NavBar:

All webserviceenabled controls now have clientside events relating to web service activity: webServiceComplete and webServiceError.

All webserviceenabled controls now have the ability to pass custom data back and forth between the clientside control and the web service. The *WebServiceRequest and *WebServiceResponse classes now all have a CustomParameter property, which can be accessed in the web service, or on the client.

All Controls:

Improved caching of ScriptHandlergenerated scripts: If scripts are cached by the browser, they are never again output for the same version, even when forcing a reload of the page

Overview
ComponentArt Web.UI suite is built on top of ComponentArt's innovative web user interface technology. Rather than using the standard technique of rendering HTML markup through server-side code and sending that content down to the browser, ComponentArt Web.UI controls are designed to generate JavaScript storage arrays containing the minimum data and style information required to display a user interface element. JavaScript logic is then used to generate all the required HTML markup (or DOM elements) on the client.

ComponentArt Web.UI 2008 for ASP.NET currently includes 22 components.

ComponentArt Calendar for ASP.NET
An Integrated Calendar and date picker, ComponentArt Calendar supports a variety of date and date-range selection types, without requiring postbacks for month paging or date selections. Public APIs of higher platform builds are perfect supersets of lower platform builds. Client-side syntax for all three builds is fully compliant with Microsoft's AJAX Library JavaScript syntax and naming conventions. It brings a tremendous amount of value because upgrading applications from ASP.NET 1.x to ASP.NET 2.0 or to ASP.NET AJAX is as simple as recompiling the project with the higher Web.UI platform build.
