True DBInput Pro

True DBInput Pro is part of ComponentOne Studio Enterprise and the ComponentOne Studio for ActiveX.

True DBInput Pro includes two new controls (TDBCalendar and TDBContainer3D), five new ActiveX objects, and more than 100 new properties. An external editor interface has also been added to permit many of the True DBInput Pro controls to be integrated directly into True DBGrid Pro.

The two new controls:

• TDBCalendar - displays up to 12 months of date information and provides international character support, enhanced calendar displays, and holiday settings
• TDBContainer3D - is a redesigned and optimized 3D effects container for all of the True DBInput controls. Effects can be applied to all or individual child controls within the container

New ActiveX Objects:

• TDBDateX provides detailed date and time information, and can be used as an external object for TDBDate and TDBTime controls
• TDBDTCalcX calculates dates and times with user-defined business logic
• TDBFinancialX performs complicated tax and financial calculations
• TDBHolidayX manages holidays and can be used with the TDBCalendar control
• TDBTZoneX calculates time differences between time zones for international time awareness and more

• Character filtering - Filter properties ensures that only valid characters entered by the user are accepted by the control
• Full support for Internet Explorer - True DBInput Pro 8.0 supports Internet Explorer (4.0 or greater) and other ActiveX-compatible browsers
• International character and format support - True DBInput Pro 8.0 supports all common international character sets, as well as international date, time, and currency formats
• New popup control interface - A new user interface has been provided for the popup calendar, calculator, and text editor
• OLE drag and drop - Drag and drop text from any application to a True DBInput Pro 8.0 control
• Integration with True DBGrid Pro 7.0 - True DBInput Pro 8.0 controls can be used as the editor for cells in a True DBGrid Pro 8.0 control by setting the ExternalEditor property of the grid’s column object
• Spin buttons - New spin buttons allow end-users to quickly increment and decrement numeric values
• Smooth input and navigation - Provides superior data input, selection, and key navigation styles
• Caption settings - Control captions now permit customization of both background color and 3D text effects
• Vertical alignment - Control text may now be aligned vertically, as well as horizontally
• Masking of passwords - True DBInput Pro 8.0 supports password entry features, hiding each character actually typed, and displaying a predefined mask character in its place
• Insert/overwrite mode - While editing in any of the True DBInput Pro 8.0 controls, pressing the Insert key toggles between input and overwrite modes
• Migration utility - A provided migration utility automatically converts True DBInput 5.0 and 6.0 projects to use True DBInput Pro 8.0
