Use FindinSite-CD to include full text searching on your CDs or DVDs containing web pages, text files, PDF and MS-Office documents.  FindinSite-CD is a Java search page that you put on your CD - the search can be used on Windows, Mac and Linux systems.  Set up the search page quickly using the included Windows tool FindinSite-CD-Wizard.

The FindinSite-CD runtime search page on your CD contains a Java applet box.  Type in your search text, click on Search and a list of results is displayed. Click on a hit and the file is displayed, with the search words highlighted in web pages. FindinSite-CD has a user interface in 29 languages, including most European languages, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese.  FindinSite-CD provides a powerful search capability that finds adjacent words and matches capitals.  FindinSite-CD can be configured in many ways.

Use the supplied FindinSite-CD-Wizard Windows tool to scan your CD to build and edit the search database.  It indexes HTML, PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, TXT, JPEG and TIFF files.  It recognizes most web character sets, including those used in many Asian pages.  FindinSite-CD-Wizard will build a search web page and launch your browser to test it.  Both FindinSite-CD-Wizard and FindinSite-CD are fast and cope with large sites well.

Your users will need to have Java installed to run the generated CD search page.  In Windows Internet Explorer, you users may need to permit Active Content to run the FindinSite-CD search.

FindinSite-CD can also be used as a part of your product. If the products help text or documentation is in HTML form, FindinSite-CD can provide its search page.
