Warning...

I found the control to be good, but the support for it from HexaTech to be terrible.

I have sent through several emails to their support address with only one response which was inadequate and a one liner. The other emails that I sent, which I am desperate for a response so that I can continue with the control have had no reply and it has been over two weeks...

Has anyone else had the same experience?

I have version 6 and looked at the new features of Version 7. I would have liked to see support for hyperlinks and export for PDF without having to use the PDF writer. When exporting to PDF it should also export the hyperlink text as hyperlinks ???? This would have been nice. I looked at a product called VSView that could do all that but it does not have the other nice features of ViewPro.

We've been using ViewPro for 3 years.

Before we got this product we spent a long time looking at components that can handle unbound databases, and can generate reports at run time until we found VIEWPRO.

It is a great control, the only thing needed is an updated version.
Just buy it!!!!

We've been using ViewPro for 2 years in a number of technical products.

Before we got this product we spent a long time looking at components that said they generated report print-outs. They didn't, they produced business print outs!

We needed technical graphing and drawing output, correctly scaled to real co-ordinates. ViewPro fitted the bill perfectly - we still haven't seen anything to beat it.
We have developed several powerful support modules for ViewPro and use it wherever printed output with versatile control is needed.

In the early days we needed some technical help - Hexatech were pretty good at getting back within 24 hours.

If this is what you're looking for you'll love it - if however, you just want to produce boring business reports there are ton's of boring components out there!

I have been using this tool for 4 years now and I haven't found any tool better. I use it to generate hundreds of reports daily. The support is excellent and the feature set really handles most of the mundane tasks for setting up a printer and getting quality output.

The RTF text support is great. The only real feature I would like is for the RTF text tool to handle multiple fonts.

I'm looking forward to a VB.Net version of this tool. Until there is one available, I'll stick to VB6.
