Lizenzierung

Authorized User license
An IBM Rational Authorized User license allows a single, specific individual to use an IBM Rational product. Purchasers must obtain an Authorized User license for each individual user accessing the product in any manner. An Authorized User license may not be reassigned unless the purchaser is replacing the original assignee on a long-term or permanent basis.

For example, if you purchase one Authorized User license, you may assign that license to one specific individual, who may then use the IBM Rational product. The Authorized User license does not entitle a second person to use that product at any time, even if the licensed individual is not actively using it.

Floating License:
An IBM Rational Floating license is a license for a single software product that can be shared among multiple team members; however, the total number of concurrent users cannot exceed the number of Floating licenses you purchase. For example, if you purchased one Floating license for an IBM Rational product, then any user in your organization may use the product at any given time. Any other person who wants to access the product must wait until the original user logs off.

Rational does not currently offer a Floating Fixed Term License.

To use Floating licenses with most Rational products, you must obtain Floating license keys and install the IBM Rational License Server. This server responds to end-user requests for access to the license keys; it will grant access to the number of concurrent users that matches the number of licenses the organization purchased.

Important - Please note that for Floating Licenses, and also for ClearCase LT and TestManager which are optional installations you will need to be issued with a license key which will be sent to you as soon as possible after your order has been processed.

Important Note for IBM Passport Advantage Customers
If you wish to buy a Rational Software license under your existing Passport Advantage agreement with IBM, please contact us and we will be able to give you a quotation, at a different price, to supply you with a license under your Passport Advantage agreement. Please quote your Passport Advantage account number to us in any email, live chat or call and we will get a price quotation for you. If you do not have a Passport Advantage account with IBM already, please let us know and we will be able to help you create an account. When you buy from us under your Passport Advantage account your software license, products and any software updates will appear under your Passport Advantage account as usual and this also means that your support will come directly from IBM.

ComponentSource – Authorised OEM Partner for IBM® Rational Software
ComponentSource is an Authorised OEM Partner for Rational Software products under our IBM OEM Software Agreement Number 168410-7437984. This agreement allows you to buy a license for Rational Software products from us and receive 1^st & 2^nd line support directly from ComponentSource, with 3^rd line support being provided by IBM experts to you, through us. 1^st line support allows you to log an issue with us and get your basic product installation working. 2^nd line support helps you with more complex issues that we replicate here and solve for you with “known work-arounds” or software patches that are available to us as an Authorised IBM OEM Partner. 3^rd line support enables us to escalate 2^nd line issues that we cannot resolve directly to IBM product experts in the USA, Europe or Asia/Pac and they help us to solve the problem. ComponentSource will also be your main point of contact to get updates to any Rational Software products should you need them to fix an issue that arises, provided that you have purchased annual product maintenance from us.

Country Exclusions
ComponentSource is unable to supply products under our IBM OEM Software Agreement for End Users located in the following countries in the Middle East: Adu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar & Saudi Arabia and in Central America & the Caribbean: Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua & Panama. If you are located in one of these countries, please contact us if you would like us to obtain a price quotation for you from IBM or their local distributor.
