The HTTPS control definitely supports proxies - The HTTPS control contains a ProxySSL property which is used to tell the control whether or not to use SSL for the connection with the proxy itself. The customer is probably not setting the value to the appropriate proxy type.

The possible values of the ProxySSL property are:

- psAutomatic (0) Default setting. The connection to the ProxyServer is SSL-enabled for 'https' URL-s, and non SSL-enabled for other URL-s.
- psAlways (1) The connection is always SSL-enabled.
- psNever (2) The connection is not SSL-enabled.
- psTunnel (3) The connection is through a tunneling (HTTP) proxy.

I have tested IP*Works V5 SSL for a project to determine, which control we should buy for this project.

Unfortunately, the HTTP control could not create an SSL connection over an http proxy. Insted to send a
connect request, a clean SSL handshake stream was sent. The result was an error message about
a handshake error.
