My.N

My.N is a set of Visual Studio .Net Projects that contains the source code for the user interface of a fully integrated business and accounting package, based on Microsoft SQL Server.

It has been designed from the ground up to make full use of Microsoft’s Visual Studio and .Net Framework V2 allowing you to develop and integrate with existing business applications, build your own user interface and add complex functionality.

My.N utilizes the Net Business Framework (NBF) which delivers a ‘Building Block’ approach to development.  This makes it easy for you to develop and integrate new features while making it easy for you to retain and make use of the existing architecture. New ‘modules’ can be created and ‘plugged in’ to the existing system while existing modules are kept. Future releases will automatically upgrade standard modules, while allowing your customized application to retain its structure.

The application is complete with its own integrated Web shop, developed as an ASP.Net application. The source for this is written in C# and HTML.

The toolkit consists of:

• A series of .Net Assemblies that contain:
  • An accounting engine supporting stock control and order processing.
  • A forms engine that allows you to deliver forms that may be customized by users at run time
  • A reporting tool that can be used to build reports and browser screens
• A set of Visual Studio .Net Projects that contains the source code for the user interface for each separate function of an ERP application. Each of these can be modified, extended or replaced. In its unmodified state, this is the source code for ‘My.N’
• A Visual Studio Host project that implements the features under the umbrella of an MDI (multiple document interface) – the My.N Standard application.
• A Visual Studio Host project that implements the features under the umbrella of an ‘Outlook’, SDI (single document interface) style interface – the My.N Ledger View application.
• The source code (in C# and HTML) for a Visual Web Developer ASP.Net e-commerce Website with customizable themes.
• The Developer Toolkit manual contains masses of example code and can be downloaded from Evals. & Downloads.

My.N provides support to business across such diverse sectors as distribution, importation, manufacturing, currency transfer, Epos and more. It is scalable from a single user up and can be quickly installed.

As a fully integrated accounting package, My.N is a complete suite of accounting functions including nominal, sales and purchase ledger, stock control, sales and purchase order processing, complete Euro functionality all of which can be customized.

My.N has full multi-currency support with built-in EC VAT compliance. Dual base currencies provide full Euro support. The purchase order system automatically displays contact names, telephone numbers, preferred suppliers, supplier references at account and item level, and tracks and reminds the lowest buy price. Full flexibility allows complete tracking and control over the order process. Invoices can be reconciled with orders and goods received quickly and easily, including multi-order invoices.

Stock control is fully integrated. Stock is posted to the ledger as it is received, with picking lists for outstanding sales orders being updated automatically. Stock received but not invoiced is automatically accrued. The accrual is automatically reversed when the invoice is posted. Stock items may be allocated to any number of categories. Stock items have ninety nine price bands with default pricing either by margin or discount set separately for each category.

Sales Order Processing has fully automated stock allocation, with optional automatic picking. Controlled release of service items allows service suppliers to set up a billing profile following contract agreement and release invoices as they fall due. Batch-numbered stock items may be tracked from order to sale. Stock ageing at consignment level allows reporting of obsolescent stock.

Licensing

My.N is available in two versions; a run-time compiled application for end users and a DTK (tookit) for developers.  These are supplied under a renewable license.

The DTK is also supplied under a renewable license which includes the support contract. 

Developers can leverage the application in two ways.  Firstly, it can be used as a reporting engine by passing in information from an existing application using My.N's detailed object model.  This gives the integration a high degree of controllability and data integrity.  The integration is very tight and reliable.  In passing the information between the systems, the application will need to log on as a user, which will take up a user license, and then log off once the transaction has completed.  Alternatively, a developer key can be provided which will allow the external application to be logged on permanently. 

The second way the platform can be leveraged is to take the DTK and modify the front end.  At a low level, boxes can be removed and labels changed.  At a higher level, new forms, objects and functionality can be written and incorporated. 

Deployment license are available in two versions:-

• Financials which delivers full multi-currency accounting and comprehensive reporting options
• Commercials includes comprehensive stock control, SOP, POP plus additional optional modules

To deploy a developed application, developers create their own compiled version of the software and when it is rolled out, the application will need licensing to the end user at the license costs indicated. To license a non-standard front end, the system needs to be given a different type of release key which is called an Enterprise Key.
