Information on how to build the application mentioned is placed on our web site .../products/Navigator/navigator_applications_infopad_anatomy.htm. As you can see there is clearly mentioned that PureComponents TreeView has been used to do that. As to the licenses and support, this must be some misunderstanding, we haven't received any support email from Rene [Denmark] according to our records. Just resend your questions, the best would be to use forms on our website, so it is not caught by spam filter if you are using some free mail or SMTP server which is on a black list.

We do have support forums which we answer, we do have support email which is answered within 24 hours and this week we will launch a new customers portal with CRM system integration.
Unfortunately for feature request emails concerning our FREE product we cannot guarantee 24hrs response and instant implementation of a feature request.

The Navigator component looks real good, easy to use and the documentation is very adequate. Examples only cover very basic functions. The price is very reasonable and together with the “free” NicePanel control you can have a very colorful and powerful navigation setup. However, there is practically no support at all – technical, sales, email and forum. Hopefully, someone from the company can come forward to clarify their support policy or there is one at all.

Looks nice but they promise more than they deliver. The pictures they use to demo the Navigator control cannot be implemented without buying the Tree control as well. Two controls from Pure Components cannot be used in the same application without one of them suddenly becoming a trial version due to some license file clash. There is virtually NO support.
My advice: Don't buy...

Hello,

.NET compliance tests verifies that all the code is compliant with CLS standards, which is true for products that does not incorporate WinAPI calls.

In theory if you have 100% CLS compliant code (without unsafe code blocks, win32 api calls, interop etc) you would be able to run it on some other .NET runtimes, like for example open source Mono project. This is a theory, as all theories, it has some flaws, like for example that if you need to achieve some "little" bit more enhanced functionality like in Navigator you have, you cannot do it without the tweaks and support of the target system you are building it for. So we do have some Win32 API calls in the designer and interop with Visual Studio to give you the easiest way to use our products. We are aware that it can cause a problem not to pass the PEVerify compliancy test. But in the real world, where our clients need to develop and fast develop applications for .NET running 100% on Win platform, this is not going to cause any problems.

Hope this helps.

One of the very first things that our firm does with 3rd-party control is to verify if their assembly is compliant. We do this by using standard PEVerify tool from Microsoft. When we tried PEVerify on PureComponents Navigator assembly, there were more than 5,500 errors found. I don't know whether if anyone else out there deeply cares about this like we are, but to me PureComponents's developers need to pay more attention to their coding technique and compliance issues before they publish their controls.

The Navigator component was just the tool for us when we needed a complete and sophisticated component. Our product will be released ahead of scheule because of the time invested by PureComponents in their components. The components were easy to use and not only provided us with the functionality that we needed, but as most of the work was performed in the winforms designer. We are now using all of the latest components from this company and have found dealing with them easy and friendly, technical support we received before we expected it and we allways found the solution, we found that the company were very receptive to our sugestions for future versions and we will definitely be dealing with them in the future.

Having used Navigator for the past week, I am VERY impressed. It gives your application a whole new lease of life and replaces the old boring Outlook bar with a new 'Outlook 2003' style control that gives you complete navigational control over your whole Application. It's easy to program with limitless styles and formatting available as well as great runtime user control if needed.

Pure Components have released a control that the other big control vendors must be envious of because it does so much more than their current offerings. They are about to release another component the 'EntrySet' and if that's only half as good as Navigator it will be superb - I can't recommend Navigator highly enough.
