Rainbow PDF Server Based Converter can be used as part of an ASP service and does not require either an Acrobat license or a Microsoft license to operate.   Document Maps in MS Word can be outputted to bookmarks in PDF. Rainbow Server Based Converter can create thumbnail images for easy document identification and retrieval.
