SQL Comparison SDK

What's new in SQL Comparison SDK 1.0
SQL Comparison SDK 10 contains the following APIs:

• SQL Compare 10.0
• SQL Data Compare 10.0
• SQL Packager 6.6 (updated to handle new collations and limited Denali support)

The improvements to all three engines include Azure database support and script folder support for Data Compare for the first time in a main SDK release.

There are also new examples and updated API documentation available

SQL Comparison SDK - Automates comparison and synchronization tasks

• Full API access to Red Gate comparison tools
• Incorporate comparison and synchronization functionality into your applications
• Automate tasks using all the new objects, XML datatypes and CLR assemblies in SQL Server 2005 and 2008
• Schedule any of the tasks you require from the SQL Bundle of tools

The SQL Comparison SDK provides a means to compare and synchronize database schemas and data from within your own applications, with a greater degree of control than the command line interfaces. It does this by giving you access to the APIs used within our SQL database comparison and synchronization tools. By accessing these, you can completely automate all your SQL comparison, synchronization, packaging and update jobs. You can, for example, create a program to schedule the comparison and synchronization of your SQL databases; then automate their installation, replication and verification.

The SQL Comparison SDK also gives you programmable access to the advanced functions of both SQL Compare Pro and SQL Data Compare Pro, including:

• Comparing a live database to a folder of SQL scripts
• Simpler source control management with the SQL Changeset add-in
• Installing a new database directly from script files
• Row Level Restore from a backup to a production or test database

By using the SQL Comparison SDK you can incorporate all of the Red Gate SQL database tools' functionality into the applications that you create.

Distributing the SQL Comparison SDK
If you include the SQL Comparison SQK as part of your applications, you can distribute up to 10 copies as part of your license.
