Rogue Wave Stingray Objective Grid

by Rogue Wave Software - Product Type: Component / .NET Class / VC++ Class Library

Allow end users to manipulate data in a grid. Stingray Objective Grid offers a complete library of MFC extension classes that implement a grid control, allowing end users to manipulate data by enhancing the capabilities of cells within the grid. The database connectivity functionality allows using the grid as a browser for a database with ODBC, DAO and ADO connections. The spreadsheet can be persisted in HTML format or serialized in XML format, enabling the exchange of grid data over the Internet. Includes MFC, ActiveX and .NET compatible components.

Objective Grid provides extension classes that implement a grid control so you can quickly deliver effective custom GUIs that have the look and feel of Microsoft Excel. Objective Grid contains MFC, ActiveX and Microsoft .NET components in a single package and its consistent APIs across Microsoft technologies ease the migration from ActiveX or MFC to Microsoft .NET.

Objective Grid features include:

  • Consistent API across Microsoft technologies
  • Styles can be applied to cells, or ranges of cells, to change the appearance or formatting of the data
  • Any Microsoft .NET control can be used as a grid cell editor
  • Can be used as a browser to bind with a database with ODBC, DAO and ADO connections
  • Contains tree-grid functionality for creating hierarchical grids

Objective Grid includes the following components:

  • Objective Grid
  • Objective Grid PRO
  • Objective Grid for XML
  • Objective Grid for ActiveX (in a separate install - only available as part of Stingray Studio)

Objective Grid is a rich grid component that enables developers to mimic many of the user interface features of Microsoft Excel. The Grid component offers a wide range of built-in controls that can be embedded in the cells of a spreadsheet. Floating and merged cells and the formula engine are popular features of the Excel-like interface implemented in the Objective Grid product.

The database connectivity functionality allows using the Grid as a browser for a database with ODBC, DAO and ADO connections. The spreadsheet can be persisted in HTML format or serialized in XML format, enabling the exchange of Grid data over the Internet. The tree-Grid functionality allows creating advanced hierarchical grids with ADO support for database connection.
