PGP was originally created as a program to encrypt mail and files. Later it evolved into an open standard (OpenPGP), which utilizes flexible decentralized key management and advanced encryption, signing and encryption functionality.

With OpenPGPBlackbox you can extend your application with security functions such as signing, encryption, decryption and verification of the data using OpenPGP keys. The components can also be used for OpenPGP key generation and management.

OpenPGPBlackbox conforms to OpenPGP Message Format (RFC 2440 and its successor, RFC 4880) and supports all popular PGP-based applications and libraries which are currently available on the market.

Using OpenPGPBlackbox the SSL/TLS components of SecureBlackbox can perform OpenPGP-based server-side and client-side authentication of the SSL/TLS handshake. OpenPGPBlackbox also provides OpenPGP/MIME extension for support of PGP-encrypted mail. This extension can be used with MIMEBlackbox.

OpenPGPBlackbox does not use CryptoAPI, OpenPGP or other third-party encryption library. To perform cryptographic functions and for PKI operations OpenPGPBlackbox uses PKIBlackbox, base functions of which are included with OpenPGPBlackbox package.

OpenPGPBlackbox is offered as an individual package and as a part of Professional, Standard and Data Security packages.

OpenPGPBlackbox .NET
PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is usually used to sign, encrypt and compress files and text. PGP can also be used to sign and encrypt Internet mail. PGP has its own key management structure and recent implementations can also use X.509 certificates to hold the keys. PGP evolved into an open standard (OpenPGP).

OpenPGPBlackbox (.NET edition, part of SecureBlackbox software product) is a collection of managed components for OpenPGP support in your C#, VB.NET. C++.NET, ASP.NET applications.

General OpenPGP features, supported by OpenPGPBlackbox are:

PKI Infrastructure is used by OpenPGPBlackbox as an alternative to OpenPGP keys and is provided by PKIBlackbox, base functions of which are included into OpenPGPBlackbox.

Available editions
OpenPGPBlackbox is available in several editions for various software platforms.

.NET edition. This edition of OpenPGPBlackbox includes pure managed components, carefully optimized to achieve maximum performance, comparable to native processor code.
.NET edition requires .NET Framework 4.0, .NET Framework 3.5, .NET Framework 3.0, .NET Framework 2.0, .NET Framework 1.1, Silverlight 4, Silverlight 3, Mono 2.0, Mono 1.0, .NET CF (Compact Framework) 3.5, .NET CF 2.0, .NET CF 1.0.
.NET edition can be used on ASP.NET server systems, Windows desktop systems, Windows Mobile PDAs, Silverlight-enabled browsers, on Linux and MacOS X systems with Mono installed.

VCL edition. Blazingly fast native Delphi (Pascal) components for building native Windows and Linux applications. Usable with Delphi, C++ Builder or FreePascal (Win32 or x64, Linux/x86 or Linux/x64).
VCL edition works on any computer with Windows 98 and later or with Linux kernel 2.4 and later.

ActiveX/DLL edition. ActiveX controls and Dynamically-Linked Libraries are useable with virtually any development tool, which supports ActiveX or DLLs. This includes ASP web pages, Visual Basic 6 applications, native C/C++ applications for Windows, shell and server-side scripts.
ActiveX/DLL edition works on any computer with Windows 98 and later.
