What's New in SG PView 4.0 and 4.01

1. New in saving and loading documents form file

  • Now in SG PView4 you can save documents to and load documents from file. Use this new feature to work with template documents

2. New Tools:

  • PViewDesigner. SG PView control has a built-in designer, which allow you to build your document at design-time . Just clicking the a_Designer shortcut in the properties window you will be able to add cells, rows, headers, footers, insert images, texts
  • Now with SG PView4 packet you have a Templates Editor. Use TPLEditor to built template documents or pre-printed forms, which you can load at run time in your applications

3. New Page areas:

  • Now in SG PView4 the Body area has three sub-areas: StartDoc, BodyDoc and EndDoc. Rows belonging to StartDoc sub-area are printed and previewed at start of the body area. Rows belonging to the EndDoc sub-area are printed and previewed at the end of the body area

4. New in Edition facilities:

  • Now in SG PView4 you edit text in cells directly. The old Edit Bar disappears and the edition is made inside the document. Just double-click in an editable cell and start editing
  • Also you can resize cells and rows interactively using the design mode at run-time

5. New Properties:

  • StartBodyRow. Defines the first row of the BodyDoc sub-area
  • EndBodyRow. defines the last row of the BodyDoc sub-area
  • ShowGuideLines. If True, a grid appears showing the limits of rows and cells
  • MultiLineEditing. In edition mode, if True, this property allows multi line editing in Cells
  • AutoHighLightEditing. In edition mode, if True, the text in the cell is HighLighted
  • ActiveArea. Sets or Gets the active area to add/modify rows and cell texts

6. New Methods:

  • SetGuideRow. Defines the row which properties are inherited by new added rows when InheritLastRow property is set to False
  • AddStartDocRow. Add a row to the StartDoc sub-area
  • AddEndBodyRow. Add a row to the EndDoc sub-area

The SGPrint control allows you to quickly and easily create documents for printing and previewing.

It supports multiple rows and columns, text wrapping, multiple text fonts and sizes, headers and footers, blocks outlining, control frames, cell borders, graphics, and more.

You can implement page print previews with zooming, scrolling, and paging by only dropping the control in a form. The SGPrint built-in toolbar provides command buttons to print the document created, zoom in, zoom out, show the full page or fit to width, to navigate through the previewed document. You can choose to show or not the toolbar by only setting a property.

Use the BeforeButtonClick event to customize the defaults button command actions.

Let the user to choose the printer properties before printing setting the ShowPrintDlg property.

Cut your develop time setting the default properties and allowing to inherit the properties of the last row added

Choose the color resolution to show or print BMPs, GIFs or JPGs graphics.

Use the interactive editing facilities to allow the user to edit texts in cells. The SGPrint control has a built-in Editbar to enter texts. The built-in Editbar appears either setting a property or automaticaly when the user dobleclik in a editable cell.

Use the ClickCell, EnterCell and LeaveCell events to introduce control or validation code when the end user edit cells.

Powerfull headers and footers which can have multiple rows and columns. Virtualy, you can define headers and footers in the same way that the body area of any page.

Using the SGPrint control you can to create sophisticated reports, either based on database tables or from arbitrary sources. You may also use it to produce form-type documents, newsletters, format and print data files, or to let your application create any type of custom output it needs.
