What's new in ShinobiSuite v2.7

Updates to ShinobiGrid v2.7

  • Fixed issue where SDataGridDataSourceHelper was displaying data in incorrect order when data is grouped & given a sort order of none.
  • Fixed issue where a datagrid wouldn't respond to status bar gestures and scroll to top of grid.

Updates to ShinobiCharts Premium v2.7

  • Replaced method parameters of type SChartInternalDataPoint to id<SChartData> in SChartOHLCSeries & SChartCandlestickSeries classes.
  • Adds individual bar/column datapoint styling. Each bar/column can now be styled by overriding the styleForPoint method on SChartBarSeries (or SChartColumnSeries). This means point selection for bar/column series now has a visual effect.
  • Adds individual datapoint styling to the SChartPointSeries and SChartRadialLineSeries. Each datapoint can now be styled by overriding series' styleForPoint method. Note that the following series inherit this behaviour from SChartPointSeries: SChartBubbleSeries, SChartScatterSeries, SChartLineSeries, SChartStepLineSeries.
  • Adds discontinuous line series support. Datapoints with a nil x- or y-value are supported for that orientation. This now creates gaps in a line series.
  • Fixes tick marks on logarithmic axes.
  • Fixes issue where manually returned tick values would not work with logarithmic axes.
  • Fixes issue with labels not being properly clipped on Discontinuous Axes.
  • Fixes issue where tick mark labels would disappear if they were in diagonal orientation, and the device was rotated.
  • Fixes z-ordering for certain interwoven series, such as two columns with an intermediate line. This rectifies the behaviour and restores the series drawing order to back-to-front, i.e. series 0 is the furthest from the viewport.
  • Fixes cross-bin deselection. Previously if two points in different "data-bins" were selected after each other, the last selected point wouldn't be visually deselected due to a bin-invalidation issue. This is now resolved.
  • Updates SChartInternalDataPoint to correctly adopt the SChartData protocol. However, this class is intended for internal use so any methods which use the class on the public API have been deprecated. These methods will be removed in future releases. For now, they are included in a separate category.
  • Updates ShinobiCharts imports so that the user can just import <ShinobiCharts/ShinobiCharts.h> and get all the headers they need. This should make things easier for the user, as this is the header that Xcode will add automatically for them.
  • Moves the getInfo method from ShinobiChart to ShinobiCharts. The methods on ShinobiChart have been deprecated.
  • Moved all the deprecated properties and methods on SChartAxis.h to SChartAxis+Deprecated.h.

Updates to ShinobiEssentials v2.7

  • Renames SEssentials to ShinobiEssentials, and deprecates the old class. This makes the Essentials framework more consistent with the other Shinobi frameworks.

What's new in ShinobiSuite v2.6

  • ShinobiCharts has been updated with the introduction of Radar and Polar charts, sometimes known as web charts or spider charts, which are commonly used to show commonalities or outliers across data. They are in use in areas as diverse as finance, sports and scientific applications.
  • ShinobiGrids now include Pull-to-Action as a new feature. Implementing this feature will refresh complete data sets with a simple finger-swipe.
  • ShinobiEssentials also has Pull-to Action included, but this time as a separate control so you can add this feature into any app.

What's new in ShinobiSuite 2.5

  • Support for iOS7
  • New theme for each of the controls which mirror's Apple's new look UI
  • New theming structure can automatically pick an appropriate theme based on the OS version the device is using

Now includes ShinobiEssentials 2.0
Included in this release is a whole host of new controls and some key revisions to existing components that have hugely expanded the versatility and power of this component suite.

Updated Controls

  • Accordion now has a new edit mode which lets the user reorder or delete sections. In addition, there’s a new virtualization mode, which means Accordion will only request content from the data source for sections currently in view meaning better memory usage for your app.
  • Sliding Overlay Panel includes a few minor changes. It is now possible to implement double sided sliders so you can slide left and right by nesting two panels inside each other.

Better Documentation
This Essentials release includes a brand new, comprehensive user guide stepping you through the key principles of each control one at a time. With a revised set of code samples and how-to guides, you’ll be much better equipped to get the most out of ShinobiEssentials than ever before.

Brand New Controls
ShinobiEssentials 2.0 includes a bundle of new controls to enhance your apps, all of which come with full Xamarin.iOS bindings too.

Linear 2D and 3D Carousel
Arrange your UI views in an easily navigable list for the user to navigate quickly through intuitive gestures. These controls include a huge number of configurable options to control the look and behavior, such as optionally wrapping around to the start when you reach the end or having items scale as they travel away from the focal point, giving a 3D perspective.

A rich delegate API provides the ability to receive notifications to be able to react to user actions and determine the currently selected items.

Cylindrical Carousel
Similar to the Linear carousels, these controls arrange items as if wrapped around a cylinder where items recede into the background, following an elliptical path. Control the arc of the path, how individual items rotate through space, transparency of items as they recede and much more, all through a simple API.

CoverFlow
If you’re looking to show your items stacked up to either side of the current focus element, in the popular Cover Flow configuration, this is the control for you. With fine grained control over angles and spacing of items, you can get exactly the look you want from your Cover Flow control.

Radial Dial
This control arranges the items in a circular path on a flat 2D plane. This makes a really useful tool for creating radial menus of icons, for example. The configuration is totally flexible; change the angles, radius, spacing, rotation and more through simple properties on the control.

Decorated Views
Want to add reflections, drop shadows or a reverse pane to your UIView? No problem, just drop it into one of the Decorated Views and it applies the desired effect for you.
