Syncfusion Essential Grid handles millions of rows with ease. It is a package of two UI control libraries, one for Windows Forms and the other for ASP.NET. The Windows Forms library comes with two distinct Grid controls – Cell-Oriented Grid, and Data-Bound Grouping Grid. The cell-oriented Grid offers Microsoft Excel-like grid functionality with customization capabilities down to the cell level. The data-bound grouping grid is a grid that supports grouping by fields, nested table views, summary records, etc. The ASP.NET library comes with a Grouping Grid with features identical to those of the Windows Forms version, with built-in AJAX support, paging and rich client-side features. The Essential Grid package also includes two complementary products: Essential Grouping and Essential XlsIO. Included with every license is a one-year subscription for unlimited technical support and updates

Essential Grid ASP.NET

• Skins - The Essential Grid control ships with several new Automatic Formats including Vista, Office 2003, Office 2007 and many more. These automatic formats enable the easy implementation of a richly formatted, proven and professional look and feel.
• Improved Performance -Essential Grid for ASP.NET improves load time greatly in this version by the use of compression techniques. The changes will be implemented transparently by just applying an attribute to the resources to be loaded.
• Browser Support - Essential Grid for ASP.NET is now compatible with all major browsers on Windows, Macintosh and Linux. Check our browser compatibility page for more information.

What’s included:

Cell-Oriented Grid (Windows Forms Only)

• Excel-like features: Formula support, covered cells, merged cells, elaborate styles architecture to customize look and feel with ease. Excel-like selection and workbook mode are also available.
• Cell customization: Nearly 30 cell types, ranging from checkboxes to nested-grid cells. Each cell’s look and feel (borders, text alignment, text-wrap, etc.) can be completely customized and values data-bound.
• Virtual mode: This grid can also operate in virtual mode, with cell values retrieved on-demand only when the corresponding cells are rendered. Use this mode to populate the grid with custom data that are usually slow to retrieve.

Grouping Grid (Windows Forms and ASP.NET) - This data bound grid offers support for grouping by columns, nested hierarchical views, preview rows, multi-row records, summary rows and columns, expression fields, stacked headers, etc. Data-bind to DataSets or simple lists.

• Data views: This data-bound grid offers grouping-by-columns support, nested hierarchical views, paged views, filtered views, multi-row records, summary rows and columns, expression fields, conditional formatting, stacked headers, etc. Declaratively data-bind to DataSources including ObjectDataSources.
• Look and feel: Several built-in skins allow you to easily create a professional-looking interface. CSS styles and templates can be used to fully customize the appearance of the grid.
• AJAX features: Grid internally uses AJAX to efficiently update itself during sorting, grouping, etc. It can also be hosted within the ASP.NET AJAX UpdatePanel control.
• User interaction: Multi-column sorting, column resizing, runtime grouping of one or more columns, filter bars, pager and navigation bars, etc. make for a very friendly user-experience.
