What's new in Syncfusion Essential Tools ASP.NET 2008 Volume 4?

• RTL support - Right-to-left language support is now provided for toolbars, menus, tree views, group bars, generic drop-downs, spell checking, windows, and rich-text editors.
• Localization support - Syncfusion now provides localization support for rich-text-editor controls and spell-check controls. With localization support, you can alter existing labels in a control or create new language sets.
• Data-binding support - Syncfusion provides data-binding support for toolbars, menus, tree views, group bars, and tab strips so you can bind data from the following data sources: Access, Object, SQL, XML, Site Map
• Close-button support for tab strips - Syncfusion now provides support for displaying “Close” buttons that allow you to close the tabs for a tab strip. These buttons are supported in all the built-in skins and custom styles.
• New caption buttons for window control - Syncfusion now provides new caption buttons that allow you to maximize, minimize, restore, refresh, pin, or unpin a control.  Also, hovering effects for caption buttons have been added.
• Server-side support for dialog box - To interact with a server when performing any button-click option, Syncfusion now has raised server-side events for dialog boxes (SFAlert, SFPrompt, SFConfirm) in a window control.
• Customize text in progress bar - Syncfusion now provides an option for displaying custom text in a progress-bar control while the control is being displayed. With this feature, you can display text on the progress bar based on progress values.
• External dictionary support for spell-check control - The spell-check control now allows suggestions from external dictionary files; this is done by setting the dictionary path to a custom file that has the extension: .dic. The spell-check algorithm has been improved to perform faster spell-checking over a large text while offering suggestions that are more accurate.
• Show drop-down support for AutoComplete text box control - You can now display a list of options that are bound to the AutoComplete text box through the client-side (ShowDropDown) and server-side (InitiallyShown) properties without entering text into the control, the same way you do for a generic drop-down.
• New waiting pop-up indicator formats - Syncfusion has added indicator formats that improve the appearance of waiting pop-up controls.
• Documentation - Product documentation has been updated with a new User Guide that instructs you on how to get started with the following controls: waiting pop-up, upload box, generic drop-down, multi-selection drop-down, and multi-column drop-down; this documentation details the control’s usage with its client- and server-side properties and events.

What's new in Syncfusion Essential Tools ASP.NET 2008 Volume 3?

• New CAPTCHA Control -A new CAPTCHA control has been added.  This control is commonly used on Web sites to prevent the automated submission of forms by scripts and robots.
• XHTML Compliance -Most controls in Essential Tools are now XHTML 1.0 compliant including the Menu, Toolbar, TreeView, GenericDropDown, Window, and RichTextEditor controls.
• Extensive Client-Side Features -Client-side interactivity of the Toolbar, Menu, TreeView, and TabStrip controls has been greatly enhanced.
• Rich Text Editor - CSS Sprite Optimization -Loading of images has been optimized for use with CSS Sprite-based implementations.  We have greatly reduced the number of HTTP requests made for image resources thereby improving startup performance.
• Improved Script Management -All new SFScriptManager allows for registering scripts and loading them separately.  Automatic compression of Javascript code is also supported.
• Static Menus -Multilevel static menus are supported to combine menus with the appearance of a Tabstrip control.
• Enhanced Upload Control -The Uploadbox control now supports saving files in streams without saving to disk.  Automatic collision detection and management are now contained in the control.
• FireFox 3 support - Tools Web controls now support the FireFox 3 browser.
• New skins for Tools.Web controls - Office2007 Blue, Black, Silver, and Vista format styles have been added to all our Tools Web controls that support skins.
• New samples – New samples that show all the client- and server-side properties;  events for Treeview, RichTextEditor, Tabstrip, Menu, and GroupBar controls are also demonstrated.
• Documentation- Product documentation is updated with a new User Guide for MultiSelectionDropdown control that instructs the end user on how to get started with that control.  It details the control’s usage with its client- and server-side properties and events.

• Tree Package: This fully customizable tree control allows you to customize several states with styles and CSS. It also lets you specify node-specific context menus, drag and drop, embedding other controls, LoadOnDemand and a rich set of client-side events for customization.
• Menus Package: Includes menus and toolbars with advanced features, including multiple alignment and orientation options, multiple static display levels, pinned menus, control embedding, and more.
• Tabs Package: This package provides to the TabStrip and MultiPage controls, allowing you to put together advanced tabbed interfaces. There is also support for nested tabs and scrolling tabs. Appropriate client side events are also raised. Use AJAX features to load content dynamically.
• Splitter Package: Host your controls within user-friendly resizable panes and VS.NET Toolbox-like sliding panes that can optionally be docked, as well. You can also nest splitters within panes.
• Docking Package: Easily create SharePoint WebPart-like dockable panels in your web pages using the Snap control. Users can easily drag the panel around by dragging the header. The look and feel are fully customizable.
• Editors Package: This advanced set of editor controls includes AutoCompleteTextBox, DropDownCalendar, RichTextEditor, SpellCheck, MultiColumnDropDownCombo, etc. Easily create forms that can provide a rich end-user experience.
• Notification Package: A generic Window, PopupControlContainer, Rotator, UploadBox and ProgressControl provide essential pieces for putting together an interactive web site.
• Navigation Package: This package includes a GroupBar control that lets you implement Outlook Bar or Windows task bar-like functionality in a snap.
• Callback Package: The CallbackPanel and CallbackMultiplexer let you “AJAXify” your pages with partial page updates. They also include loading indicators to notify users of the update progress.
