Telerik's RadControls are definately impressive. The amount of theming and configurability options can be overwhelming initially, but through the detailed online documentation and the impressive support (both from Telerik and their user community) you get an understanding of it rather quickly. Once you've gotten acclimatized to the controls and how they work, they can fulfill most of your application needs; I'd say all but there are always exceptions.

As with all things though, there are issues with them. Be it programming bugs, feature oversights, or browser compatability issues, things just tend to show up from time to time. Fortunately, programming bugs are taken care of rather in terms of development, often by the next release of the suite. On rare occassions I've witnessed scenarios where the next release was too far away for a user to wait, but the Telerik team would provide a hot fix so the user could use the control for their project. I make no claims that Telerik would do this on every case, nor do they say they will (that I'm aware of), but I say this just to point out the commitment Telerik has to quality controls and customer service.

Features abound in these controls. I've used them for a couple years now and I've still not used every feature, nor have I been able to utilize all the controls. Now this can just be that most of my development is focused (which it is, to a degree) but it's primarily due to Telerik consistantly tossing out new releases that contain improvements, additions and occasionally completely new controls. They generally have a decent number of features planned for their controls that they have not yet been able to implement due to time constraints on releases (the coder's nightmare as it were) but even with this, they listen to their customers and take in their opinions/thoughts and some features have evolved this way.

Finally, there are some browser quirks here and there, but they are rare by any comparison. Telerik does a good job of being multi-browser compatible, but there are times when hiccups do occur. Often times, due to the very flexible and well-developed nature of the controls, you can create a fix yourself using JavaScript and the control's client API to get the desired result.

Overall, this company is deserving of the praise and fan-fare it has received since I've been watching it. It's controls are top notch, but beyond this their customer service is also superb. I'd give them five stars, but since I view that rating as "perfect" I can't really give it. It's close though--very close.
