I was about to click Buy when I saw the comments regarding the licensing policy. This seems to be a significant problem for me, as I would expect any developer not working in a big corporate environment where they don't pay for their own dev tools. I own my own company (and am its only employee) and have many different machines I use - Windows 2000, Windows 98, two laptops, and I upgrade very frequently. In addition I have sometimes have had to install my development envronment on my clients' machines in order to reproduce and debug a problem that didn't happen on my machine. It sounds like this policy would basically make the product unusable, expensive, or extremely inconvenient for me to use. I have written with the same comments to Infragistics and await their reply, but am interested in others experiences. I have purchased dozens of controls over the last few years and have never seen such a thing before.

Assuming that my comments aren't going to make Infragistics change their policy, I really just want the SSCroll component, a simple thing which I can't seem to find anywhere else... can anyone recommend an alternative?

Hi

Make it yourself, with some 'simple' API calls, you can add scrollbars to a form.
An even easier method is to place a picturebox, make it larger and add this picturebox in another one, the last one has the size of your form minus the space needed for the scrollbars, the second one has the size needed... Add two scrollbars outside the second picturebox, add some code... add your controls inside the first picturebox, and of you go...

I purchased most of the old Sheridan "Active" components and was going to upgrade to the UltraToolBars v5. After reading all of the comments about Infragistics new activation policy I guess I will have to look elswhere. If any one knows of a toolbar componant that supports most of what the old Sheridan ActiveToolBarsPlus v2.02 had plus the abilty to use 256 or 16-bit color icons please email at cornettt@anozirasystems.com

I just checked Infragistics website again. They have removed product activation for all of their controls so please disregard my earlier post. You can read the letter at their site "/corporate/policy/activation.asp"
