Visualize and track changes in data over time. The VantagePoint Trend control can be used to visualize and track changes in data over time from a given data source or set of data sources. Along with tracking live data changes, VantagePoint Trend is also capable of displaying historical data when used in conjunction with generic binding in Status Vision Designer.

VantagePoint Trend uses two primary objects to build a trend display:

• TrendGraph represents the visual control which renders the data visualization and is responsible for handling user input. Any number of GraphPens can be added to a TrendGraph object.
• GraphPen objects are responsible for supplying all data needed to plot individual trend lines and includes properties for configuring the visual characteristics of the plotted points and connecting lines as well as for maintaining measured data and providing interpolated values translated between the graph screen coordinate space and the local coordinate space implemented by the individual GraphPen.

Both TrendGraph objects and GraphPen objects contain a number of properties for customizing the look and behavior of the trend. The Trend control will allow the user to choose from four different plot point shapes and various fills that can be used to mark plotted points of data, as well as defining the location for the Legend box.

As a .NET user-interface control, VantagePoint Trend can be embedded into Mobiform XAML design products, both WPF and Silverlight applications and is compatible with Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Blend. Key supported features include:

• Ability to display real-time and historical data
• Ability to define multiple Axes in both vertical and horizontal direction
• Zooming in / out to arbitrary ranges within the data
• Scrubbing through available data history
• Support for live and historical data point manipulation
