Add GPS functionality to Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008 .NET projects. Waymex GPS Library for .Net is a .NET assembly that allows GPS functionality to be easily added to any .NET project. The assembly provides simple object based access to Garmin, Magellan and NMEA GPS devices. Waypoint, Route and Track data can be saved directly to ESRIIII Shape files as well as KML files suitable for use with Google Earth.
The Waymex GPS Library is a .NET assembly that allows GPS functionality to be easily added to any VS 2005 or VS 2008 .Net project. The assembly provides simple object based access to Garmin and Magellan GPS devices. Waypoint, Route and Track data can be stored and retrieved and access to other GPS information is available e.g. Date\Time, satellite information, current position etc. In addition Waypoint, Route and Track data can be saved directly to ESRIIII Shape and Goggle Earths KML Files.
In addition the assembly supports NMEA devices and provides object based access to the NMEA data. All sentence parsing and checksum validation etc. is handled internally by the library.
The GPS Library supports transformations to British National Grid and supports the latest OSTN02 data set provided by Ordnance Survey. The OSTN02 data set is included with the product.
In order to provide the maximum flexibility, the product includes Assemblies targeted at .Net 2.0, .Net 3.0 and .Net 3.5 and the documentation is integrated into Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008, where these products are installed.

Garmin and Magellan Support - Support is provided for both Magellan and Garmin devices through the inheritance of generic base classes. This makes it extremely easy to develop applications to support both device types. In addition the data types are shared between devices. There fore a collection of Waypoint objects retrieved from one device can easily be transferred to another.
NMEA Support - The GPS Library will allow simple object based access to NMEA devices through a simple NMEA received sentence event. The GPS Library also supports transmitting NMEA sentences to devices. All sentence parsing and checksum validation etc. is handled internally by the library.
For example if a RMC sentence is received from the connected NMEA device an event will fire passing in an RMC sentence object. The The RMC sentence object has properties that can be read such as Latitude, Longitude etc. The sentence types explicitly supported so far are; RMC, WPL, BOD, GLL, RMB, GGA, GSV, GSA, PGRME, PGRMC, PGRMM, PGRMZ, PSLIB. In addition if any customer has requirements to support specific sentence types these will be added free of charge. Those sentence types not explicitly supported are passed to the Event Procedure using a Generic Sentence Object allowing access to the received sentence.
ESRI® Shape File Support - The Waymex GPS Library for .Net supports the saving of data to ESRI shape files. This allows GPS Tracklogs, routes etc to be saved directly to Shape Files from within the assembly. These can then be viewed and analysed in GIS applications such as Arc Explorer, Arc GIS etc.
KML File Support - The Waymex GPS Library for .Net supports the saving of data to KML files. This allows GPS Tracklogs, routes etc to be saved directly to KML files from within the assembly. These can then be viewed and analysed in applications such as Google Earth.
