What's new in Xceed Ultimate Suite 2012 v1?

• New product Xceed Blendables for WPF - Create compelling UIs quickly with nearly 30 WPF controls, layouts and panels.
• Xceed DataGrid for WPF V4.3 - Improved performance during horizontal scrolling with a large number of columns, as well as improved responsiveness and efficiency auto-filtering when there are changes in the data source. Initial loading and vertical scrolling have been improved, as has scrolling performance while dragging a column over the edges of a datagrid.

Xceed DataGrid for Silverlight

• Fixed group headers and footers have been added - These allow developers to incorporate sections of "must-see" information into each group, which remain visible at all times, including when the containing group is collapsed
• Also, 14 statistical functions, which are natural candidates for display in the fixed group headers/footers, have been added.
• Blend support has been greatly improved to let designers take full advantage of the product
• Custom data sources are now easier to implement, and support for SQL databases and remote lists has been added.
• Thanks to changes in the control's API, many of the features equivalent to those found in the stock Silverlight control are much more easy to configure
• Other new features include copy-paste to Excel, the addition of SelectedItem and SelectedItems properties for use with local data, improvements to item selection, the implementation of several properties present in the WPF datagrid, and easy localization and display of filter cell operators. Also, the detail information of groups (e.g., item count, list of items) is now available for group headers and footers (local data).
• A new theme (JetPack) has been added.

Xceed Ultimate ListBox for Silverlight

• Includes benefits from improvements to the product's support of custom data sources, which are now easier to implement.
• Support for SQL databases and remote lists has also been added.

Xceed's compression products (for the .NET, .NET CF, and Silverlight platforms) and the .NET FTP component have been updated.

• PPMd is now implemented in fully managed C#. This has allowed Xceed to make several improvements in thier compression products.
• Xceed Zip for .NET with Self-Extractor, Xceed Zip for .NET, and Xceed Real-Time Zip for .NET are now fully compatible with 64-bit Windows systems.
• The PPMd compression algorithm -- previously only available in the .NET products -- is now also available in Xceed Zip for .NET Compact Framework, Xceed Real-Time Zip for .NET CF, and Xceed Real-Time Zip for Silverlight.
• The default buffer size in Xceed's FileSystem products has improved speed in certain situations. (Affects Xceed Zip for .NET, Xceed Zip for .NET with SFX, and Xceed FTP for .NET.)
• The built-in AES encryption methods available in .NET (3.5 and up) can now be used, which results in faster AES encryption.

What's new in Xceed Ultimate Suite 2011 v1?

• Xceed DataGrid for Silverlight and Xceed Ultimate ListBox for Silverlight version 1.2 feature improvements to their scrolling (with and without animations) when using the scrollbar thumb, which is smoother than ever before. Several bug fixes are also included.
• Xceed DataGrid for WPF version 4.2 features stunning performance improvements to its Cardflow 3D view (also available separately in Xceed 3D Views for WPF). This version takes better advantage of the computer's video card to help render card animation, providing a vastly smoother scrolling experience.
• Xceed Zip for .NET and Xceed Zip for .NET with Self-Extractor provides compatibility, flexibility, and performance improvements. Specifically, Zip file sizes can be optimized and their creation made more efficient because developers can now decide whether folder entries should be written to the zip archive. Compatibility with Xceed Real-Time Zip for .NET / .NET CF / Silverlight is improved and flexibility is increased in general, as it is now possible to zip using the Deflate format without compression. Resource management has been improved in a way that will help programmers streamline their application logic during development, thanks to a property that returns the number of pending actions remaining to be done on an archive. The stream buffer size of the base file class is now configurable, increasing flexibility and potentially increasing performance based on factors such as the media involved.

Xceed DataGrid for WPF v3.2 Professional Edition features improvements to the datagrid's data virtualization capabilities (grouping, support for data sources implementing IQueryable (LINQ), support for inserting and deleting items with InsertionRow and DeleteCommand), support for Entity Framework data sources, and the ability to customize the contents of the AutoFilterControl. Both the Professional Edition and the Standard Edition v3.2 feature a ComboBox editor (combo boxes can now easily be used as cell editors now without the need to write code to fill the combo box) and unbound columns.

Xceed FTP for .NET and Xceed FTP for .NET Compact Framework have been updated to version 4.0 with enhancements that greatly improve the ability of these products to connect to a server residing behind a firewall. Internal architecture changes improve performance and transfer capabilities, and take advantage of the .NET Framework class SslStream; these improvements are also featured in Xceed Activities for Workflow Foundation, which has been updated to version 1.3. Xceed Upload for Silverlight has been updated to version 1.1 and features the ability to perform uploads of unlimited amounts of data in a single operation or batch.
