Single source publishing to multiple formats. XF Rendering Server 2009 is a high-volume, high-speed solution for generating a wide range of communication materials from XML. It can process documents of any size and paginate content at a rate of thousands of pages per minute, making it one of the fastest XML formatters in the world. The Enterprise Edition adds support for multiple output formats including Postscript for direct printing, HTML for easy web publishing or Word 2003 for editing. It works on both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows and Linux platforms. The Enterprise Edition provides significant cost savings by eliminating the need to purchase additional software; it comes with an integrated charting engine and the ability to generate PDF/X and PDF/A compliant documents.

XF Rendering Server family of products can dynamically create professional, print-ready documents in a flexible, scalable, robust, and highly performing server environment.

XF Rendering Server Features at a glance:

Can Hyphenate output in 27 languages including German, English, etc.

Uses multiple processors/cores when available to reduce the processing time

The XML data from a backend system is combined with a template to generate PDF and other formats. This process happens in an unattended mode and can occur on-demand or in batch. The templates are based on open standards and can be designed with XF Designer 2009 or any other designer able to generate XSL style sheets.

Electronic Typesetting

Consistent, automated layout is mandatory for today's corporate communication materials. As opposed to the average report generation tool, an electronic typesetting engine performs complicated tasks that make your publications look modern and professional:

Layout headers and footers which can be different for first, even and odd pages.

Automatic layout of footnotes should be performed while following proximity rules.

Text should be handled according to widows and orphans rules. Keep and break rules should also be satisfied.

Full color support (RGB, CMYK and Pantone) is a must your documents must be printed.

Text can be mixed with raster graphics (images) and vectorial graphics (charts and barcodes). Professional text handling includes the ability to hyphenate, apply kerning, and handle of complex scripts (Arabic, Hebrew, etc.) All these requirements are no longer reserved for traditional printed materials like magazines and newspapers. Today's statements, brochures and newsletters have borrowed this knowledge to create compelling materials designed to make content more accessible, run effective marketing campaigns, or simply present the information better.

XF Rendering Server can be accessed in several ways:

Using a .NET, JAVA, or COM+ programming interface. You can generate PDF, AFP and Postscript (or any other supported output format) from your favorite programming language using just 2 lines of code. See the Resources section below for links to code samples and more information

Via a Web Service – you can download the Web Service from our Downloads section

There are also several command line utilities in the Bin folder (render.exe, urender.exe, render.net.exe and others)

Using the Management Console you can configure "hot folders". The XF server will monitor these folders for any new files and perform actions like rendering, XSLT transforms, etc. Hot folders and command line utilities are described in the help file installed with each product
