Add advanced printing functionality to your WinForms .NET applications with the Xtra Printing Library. The DevExpress Printing System takes the controls you use within an application and renders their contents using a simple method call. So when users sort, group and filter the contents of a grid, manipulate the dimensions of a pivot table, or add an event to their daily schedule, a report is a single line of code away from output. And it's not just available in printed form, a full set of data export options (PDF, XLS, HTML, etc) is built-in.

Storing Watermarks and Header/Footer Options - When a report is previewed in a Print Preview form, it is possible for end-users to insert a watermark into it, as well as add page numbers, current date/time and other information using the Header/Footer form. Once adjusted in a single report, these settings look fine. However, if end-users want to do the same for another report, they need to repeat all previously executed actions. With v2008 vol 3, you are now able to programmatically save Watermark and Header/Footer options into a file, stream or the system registry.
Improved Print Preview Form - The following changes have been made to the Print Preview Form's status bar:

Export to XLS - Support for Native Data Formatting - Previously, the XtraPrinting Library exported its data to XLS either as strings, or numbers. Now, if numeric or date-time data is exported, information about the corresponding format strings is embedded into the resulting XLS file.

Saving and Loading Generated Documents - With v2007 vol 3, the XtraPrinting Library allows you to save a report document from the Print Preview to its internal file format (*.prnx), and then load it within another Print Preview form.
RTF Export Improvements - The RTF export module was totally re-written and now produces genuine WYSIWYG results. The document is now correctly broken down into pages. Previously, the document was exported to RTF as a single page and page headers and footers were ignored. Cells are now represented by frames with absolute positioning instead of nested tables. This makes it easier to edit documents and significantly improves text editor performance against exported files. Watermarks are now supported (both text and images).
Image Export Improvements - Export to graphic files is now more flexible. You can control the following attributes:

User Interface Based Reporting
The Xtra Printing Library provides built-in support for the following DevExpress WinForms Controls:
It also ships with support for standard Microsoft controls like the Grid View, TreeView, ListView and RichEdit.
When used in conjunction with these presentation controls, the Xtra Printing Library will significantly reduce the number of banded reports you would otherwise be forced to create by simply rendering the contents of the presentation controls with a simple method call. Whether it's a list of contacts displayed within a Grid, sales related information within a PivotGrid, or financial trends within a chart, the UI you deliver can be rendered, printed or exported to multiple file formats with ease.
Print Your UI
To deliver the perfect end-user experience, the print preview capabilities of the Xtra Printing Library provide you countless customization options both at design and runtime. These include:
