Per concurrent user licensing: Product is licensed per user. You can install IntelliJ IDEA on multiple machines, provided that a number of concurrent users never exceeds the number of purchased licenses.
Cross-platform compatible: You can use the same IntelliJ IDEA license on different operating systems, provided that it's not concurrently used.
Perpetual ownership: Your license is perpetual to the purchased version of IntelliJ IDEA. No annual renewal is required.
Non-transferable restriction: Use of the software is restricted to a licensed customer with no right to transfer. Companies and organizations can only transfer their licenses between employees and contractors.

1 Year Upgrade Subscription
1 Year Upgrade Subscription is a maintenance option that allows you to prepay for an upgrade to the next major release of IntelliJ IDEA at 60% off the full license price. Unlimited access to technical support via e-mail as well as free upgrades to generally available bug fixes and minor releases are also included in the 1-year upgrade subscription. 1-year upgrade subscription is not available for purchase as a standalone product — you can only obtain it as part of the new license purchase or upgrade purchase for IntelliJ IDEA.

1-year upgrade subscription requires annual renewal. You can renew your upgrade subscription during your upgrade subscription term or within 1 year upon its expiration. Regardless of the actual upgrade subscription renewal date, your new upgrade subscription term will always start on the date following your previous upgrade subscription expiration date to ensure continuous upgrades and technical support.

The IntelliJ IDEA Personal License is a single user license that is available to individual developers purchasing the license with their own funds and for their personal use.

Personal License Terms - Single User License: IntelliJ IDEA Personal License is only for individuals purchasing the license with their own funds and for their personal use. This license permits use of a fully-functional version of IntelliJ IDEA by a single person for commercial purposes.
