Microsoft has got some big releases coming up that will impact all of us. Windows 7 has been released to manufacture (RTM) and is due out on Oct 22nd, 2009. Have you taken a look at Windows 7 yet? If not, download it now - it is already available to MSDN & TechNet subscribers and to Microsoft partners. Plus the next version of Visual Studio - 2010 - will probably be released sometime during 2010! (I guess?) And a lot of you will already be looking at Silverlight 3 and WPF to create new products or new editions of your existing software for release in early 2010. For the Mobile market, even the Windows Mobile Developer SDK has been given a long overdue face lift with V6.5 and there is talk of a further V7.0 release in 2010 as well.

So with all this change in the market - what are your product plans? How are you going to get your existing products tested with Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010? When do you plan to release your new products that support Windows 7 and VS 2010? How will your customers get upgraded to these latest new releases? If you have WinForms and ASP.NET editions of your products already - what are your product range and bundling plans when you add WPF and Silverlight? Have you published a product Roadmap to let your customers see that you will help move them forward into these new technological areas? How is your licensing and pricing model going to change in the coming year? We are here to help - with free product licensing and pricing advice. We can discuss this on the phone, by email or in person at the Microsoft PDC event in Los Angeles in November - if you are going to be there. To discuss this further email harryk@componentsource.com
