Microsoft has released Visual Studio 2012 RC - with a go live license - so any app that your customers write with the VS 2012 RC will be fully supported by Microsoft in a production environment - which means that customers can already use it to build a deployable app. As we move towards the full release of Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and Visual Studio 2012 you will probably want to get your products working with the Visual Studio 2012 RC as soon as possible! If you haven't downloaded the Visual Studio 2012 RC here is the link:

Originally called our Dev11 Web site - see the link below - it features all the products from ComponentSource publishers and VSIP members that already work with the Visual Studio 2012 RC release. The Web site has a new design and show cases the products in a visual manner across 3 main areas of the software development lifecycle: Define, Develop, Operate - go on take a look!
See our new Web site for products compatible with the Visual Studio 2012 RC

We attended both Microsoft Tech Ed USA in Orlando, FL and Tech Ed Europe in Amsterdam, The Netherlands conferences in June. Both events were sold out as attendees wanted to learn about the up and coming new releases of: Windows Server 2012, Hyper-V, Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012...and much more. There was a real buzz about the place and it was good to see Microsoft getting back on the new release trail and getting ready to compete with everyone - on all fronts!
There has been a lot of talk about the new Metro UI for Windows 8 and the Surface tablet computers already, plus a lot of feedback has been given to Microsoft about the Metro UI, the Visual Studio 2012 user interface with UPPER CASE menu headers etc. So I know that many of you will already be working on new products and releases that will take advantage of the new features that are available.
However - I would encourage you all to go and take a look at two other areas that you may not have studied in detail as yet. Windows Server 2012 & Hyper-V is an awesome new release and very, very powerful. Some of the new features are literally jaw dropping - particularly Hyper-V. I would also suggest you take a look at the Office 2013 preview that was released recently - again you will see some now familiar UPPER CASE menu headers - but more importantly you will see some very interesting new features around supporting files both locally and in the cloud, as well as searching for and using external data services from within Word, Excel etc.
Make sure you take a look at these 2 New Releases from Microsoft!
