This year's ComponentSource Bestselling Product and Bestselling Publisher Awards were announced on Mar 13th 2009. There were two separate award lists for our Top 100 Bestselling Products for 2008 and our Top 100 Bestselling Publishers for 2008. The awards were based on the Total Sales $ Value of Sales for the Products/Publishers over the last year from 1st Jan to 31st Dec 2008 through ComponentSource. We gave out separate awards to our Top 5, Top 10, Top 25, Top 50 & Top 100 Bestselling Products and also to our Top 5, Top 10, Top 25, Top 50 & Top 100 Bestselling Publishers from last year. The award winners were notified on Mar 13th 2008 and also listed on our Web site. On Mar 23rd we also announced our Top 50 Bestselling Products in Japan Awards and our Top 10 Bestselling Publishers in Japan Awards. Each winning publisher was sent an award logo or logos to use on their Web site Awards pages or adverts. We believe that this award program will help our customers and publishers compare product performance, based on real world orders placed by our global customers from over 110 countries worldwide. The official Web site says: "This is a developer beta release only! This means there is no “go-live” licensing available and the end-user runtime of Silverlight 3 is not available. The tools below are intended for software developers only." Silverlight products may not be selling strongly just yet - WPF products are outselling them right now with us - but there is certainly lots of interesting stuff for you to look at if you are thinking of creating Silverlight products that sell well in 2010! The initiative is led by Motorola, Nokia and Genuitec. Participating members also include IBM, RIM and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications." Not often you see all these folks agreeing to work together and given the more recent news that IBM is trying to buy SUN Microsystems and hence will arguably be able to give Pulsar even more support from the JAVA & MySQL open source community, it makes the mobile device market sector even hotter now with 4 platforms trying to get our attention from Microsoft Windows Mobile, Apple iPhone, Google Android & now Pulsar...
