We are working on some new and exciting marketing ideas that will allow you to reach our customer base on a more regular basis in print during 2008. Full details will be announced in November so that you can plan your Visual Studio 2008 related product launches during the very busy Feb, Mar, Apr, May & June period next year and also throughout the year. Several of you have asked if it is possible to update your advertising artwork on a more regular basis with less lead time on production than our current quarterly print runs. Plus many of you would like to advertise your new product releases during the year using special positions in our catalogs - but unfortunately these spaces are very popular and are hence limited. So we are working on a solution for you that will hopefully allow us to say "Yes" to all your requests and allow you to plan your marketing on a monthly basis throughout the year.

Our Technical Account Managers (TAM) update our Web site every day with your new releases. We generally get very good information from all of you about your new products and their compatibility with new technologies or platforms. However - often a new release also means that an old release is being retired or being given an official end of life date and is therefore being withdrawn from support. Unfortunately many of you are not so good about telling us about this sort of change. Also a new release might mean that previously supported platforms or environments are now no longer supported. For example - if you support the latest 2 or 3 releases of Visual Basic with your new release - does this mean that you will no longer support customers trying to use the product now with VB 5.0 or VB 6.0? Please can you let your Technical Account Manager know if you are removing compatibility with a development language or withdrawing support for an old or previous version of your product line? Ideally this is the sort of information that should also be published on a "Road Map" for each of your products on your Web site - so that all your customers can see and understand your plans.
