Our first advert has just appeared in the October 2005 issue of MSDN Magazine in Europe. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us on this new marketing initiative: Data Dynamics, Graphics Server, O2 Solutions & Softek Software. MSDN Magazine in Europe has a print run of 30,000 copies and our advertising campaign will run well into 2006 as we have planned it to last for 6 issues in all. If you would like to join us in this European print marketing initiative please visit this page for more details or if you prefer just email harryk@componentsource.com or chrisb@componentsource.com.
As you know - each quarter we print and distribute 50,000 printed paper catalogs. In July we sent all 50,000 copies of Issue # 55 out poly-bagged with MSDN Magazine, Dr. Dobb's Journal and Software Development magazines. Issue # 56 of the paper catalog has now gone to be printed and for this issue approx. 35,000 will be sent out in North America and approx. 15,000 will go out in Europe - mainly in the UK. If you would like to appear in the paper catalog - you need to be a Professional, Corporate or Enterprise Partner or you need to buy a full page advert. Full details on these advertising programs can be found on the Publisher Program Details section of our Web Site and on the Paper Catalog details page. If you have any questions - please email harryk@componentsource.com or chrisb@componentsource.com.
This month we traveled to LA for the PDC conference - where we had lots of great meetings with our publishers. In attendance were: Sam Patterson, our CEO who is based in our Atlanta, GA HQ, Scott Sata, CEO of ComponentSource KK in Japan and Harry Kelly, Managing Director of ComponentSource in Europe. So it was a great opportunity to discuss global market trends and local marketing initiatives with all of you - thanks for your time. Based on the announcements made at PDC we are all going to be very busy for the next few months - with lots of new Betas being launched now and even more full products planned for launch in November and December as Visual Studio .NET 2005 and SQL Server 2005 hit the streets. If you are not already working on a .NET 2.0 edition of your product - then you had better get moving fast! Our customers are already asking about compatibility with Visual Studio .NET 2005 Betas and from what we have seen - the demand for compatible non-Beta products is going to be almost instantaneous from the date of the formal launch on Nov 7th.
