Microsoft has been making a lot of noise and announcements relating to Silverlight, including the recent announcement about support for Linux. Silverlight is an interesting area to look at for new products in the UI area that will appeal to a potentially new audience of Web site designers and content creators. There are a lot of good resources available on the Microsoft Web site which will help you understand what Silverlight is about and also help you get started with using this new technology - including a download of their latest SDK.

Often we expect to see a quiet summer for sales with the US on vacation in July and Europe on holiday in August. This year August has again surprised us by being much stronger for sales than expected. Not only did the North American sales show signs of people returning from vacation, but the sales in Europe were at very high levels. Strong US Government sales through our GSA Schedule agreement also contributed well. This all led to us having the second highest sales month ever in the history of the company in August 2007. (The highest ever sales month was in March 2007). It would appear that demand for software components and development tools continues to be high. So make sure you continue to revise, update and release your products to give customers a reason to buy your product licenses, upgrade releases and subscription renewals.
