Feature Release

TRichView is a suite of native Delphi/C++Builder components for displaying, editing and printing hypertext documents. The components can be used to display documents (like web browsers, but easily controlled from a Delphi application), in chats and messengers, in specialized editors (web and help authoring), in any place where an application needs to edit rich text and save it to a Database or a file.

Updates in V16

  • Text Formatting:
    • Render bi-directional text and “exotic” scripts reliably, due to the use of the Uniscribe library.
    • Justify alignment and custom character spacing can now be applied to bi-directional text (both for Windows API and Uniscribe text processing).
    • New paragraph alignment type: “distribute” ; distributed paragraphs are similar to justified paragraphs, but space is added between all characters, not between words; this type of alignment is common for Far East languages.
    • Customized alignment for the last line of justified and distributed paragraphs.
    • Special options for vertical text in table cells (automatic application of vertical fonts and switching column order from right-to-left to left-to-right)
  • Visual Improvements:
    • Users can define a customized degree of transparency for backgrounds of paragraphs, tables, table cells, and text boxes.
    • ScaleRichView supports printing of transparent pictures (previously, it was supported only in TRichView).
    • User interface is compatible with high-DPI display modes.
    • RichViewActions provide two sets of toolbar images.
  • Other Changes:
    • Option to store styles (StyleTemplates) outside of RVF files.
    • Line numbers in ScaleRichView.
    • New command for insertion of “page count” field.
    • RichViewActions allow defining default properties for tables and horizontal lines.
    • More efficient processing of justified paragraphs and long text strings.
    • Improved table layout algorithm.
    • Embarcadero RAD Studio 10 Seattle is supported
