I have never used InstallShield, so totally new to it. I have created an application using C++ on visual studio, now to run this application there is dependency on .Net Framework. I want to create an installer using Installshield which can do these task. It should check for .Net framework availability on the system and if it is not there it should install the .Net first and then my application. However if .Net framework is already there it should only install my application. (.Net 2.0 or 3.5 will be ok for my app).

any help on this would be great !!

Thanks in advance !!

Hi, Sir:

To do silent installation with a InstallShield application, we can stat with "-s", E.g. "Setup.exe -s".
How can with make the "Silient Installation" be the default behavior?
That is, can we start as "Setup.exe" and the application with do the Silenet Installation automatically?

InstallShield not installing : java home not found guptharish [India] 06-Aug-2010 13:04:07

Hi All,

When I am installing install shield to my linux machine by running file, then I am getting below error:

This application requires a Java Run Time Environment (JRE)
to run. Searching for one on your computer was not successful.
Please use the command line switch -is:javahome to specify
a valid JRE. For more help use the option -is:help.

I had tried with -is:javahome option by specifying a proper java home location, but still getting the same error.

Appreciate if anyboady can help me out to resolve this.

I have installed installshield 2010 professional licenced version with SP1 in my windows 2003 server.

1. I have created Basic MSI project in Visual studio Team System 2008.
2. After creation Basic MSI project i have used in Team Foundation Server MSbuilds below code i imported in MSBUIDS.
<Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\InstallShield\2010\InstallShield.targets"/>

3. If i triger the build i am getting below error.

Confirm that the path in the <Import> declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.

HI to all.
Actually i am facing some problem during Downgrading the latest Exe package with older Exe package.
both packages are created by using IS-2010.
One more thing i observed is if the older package is created by using IS-X at that time downgrading working fine.
i want to know whether IS2010 supports EXE Downgrading.

We encounter a question, Our customer ask installer's GUI language should be same as the OS's display language, But, in all old installshield version, the installer GUI's language always keep same as the OS's system language. So, My question is, in the new version, installShield 2010, Can support to let installer GUI's language same as OS's display language. You know, In Win7, they can alone install MUI, and just let the display language to change.
