Why on earth would anybody want to load 18,000 records into a tooltip! Probably better to do some proper UI and design the app to use normal grids etc rather than the latest GeeWhiz component. I am not knocking the ToolTipsFactory I can see the need to display more info in a tooltip than just a line of text.

We would like to reply to some of the statements made above: We think that a control with a 400+ page help file or documentation set is not what can be called a "trivial" tooltip component. Maybe a look into the documentation would have been helpful to understand that the ToolTipsFactory extends the concept of tooltips far beyond what has been done today. With the ToolTipsFactory you can present complex data - be it static or dynamic text, generated graphics or movie-clips - in a really unobtrusive but appealing way to the user. As far as we know, there is no other tooltip component with these capabilities. Yes, there are people that have tested the ToolTipsFactory product! Did you really test it? We don't know, how long your treeview takes to load 18000 records, but we know that the ToolTipsFactory component has a property (InitialDelay) where the delay, before the tooltip pops up, can be defined. This works with an accuracy of 10 ms. If you tell it to pop-up after 1000000 ms, it will do exactly that. If you want it to pop-up with virtually no delay, you specify 10 ms. It pops-up as fast as the standard .NET tooltip, if you tell it to do so (InitialDelay= 50ms) and can display only text. Abstraction Systems
