Perpetual Licenses

UltraCompare is available as a perpetual license for Named Users (for a single developer) or Concurrent Users (for a single machine that can be accessed by multiple developers, up to the licensed number). All licenses include technical support.

UltraCompare is available as an Annual Subscription which entitles you to use the software and access new versions for 1 or 2 years. The 2 Year Subscription represents a saving compared to two 1 Year Subscriptions. All licenses include priority technical support.

Previous Versions

Access to previous versions of UltraEdit applications is currently only available through email. Please email support@ultraedit.com with your current license information, and UltraEdit will provide you with the version you are eligible for.

FAQs

Is the license permanent (perpetual) or temporal (time-limited)?

UltraCompare is available as a Perpetual License or an Annual Subscription.

Perpetual License - allows you to use the software in perpetuity.

Annual Subscription - available as a 1 Year or 2 Year Subscription. Allows you to use the software for the specified period after the purchase date.

What happens after my Annual Subscription License period ends?

When the Annual Subscription License period ends, you must purchase a subscription renewal in order to continue using the software.

Can I upgrade / downgrade my license?

Yes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Can I add more developers to my license?

It is possible to co-term new licenses to the same date as existing licenses, but it is no longer possible to combine license keys, or add new licenses to an existing license key.

What type of support do I get?

All UltraCompare licenses come with technical support via email. Visit the UltraEdit Support Page for further information.

Does UltraCompare require online / offline activation?

UltraEdit products support offline activation.

Can I buy an old product version?

UltraEdit do not sell previous versions directly, however purchasing a license will provide the customer with a key for the current version, which will also work with previous versions. UltraEdit will provide a paid customer with a link to download a previous version, but please note that there is limited support for previous versions.

Can a license be transferred from one developer to another?

Yes, provided the license is owned and disseminated by the developer's employer. The license includes built-in protections so that its permitted use is not exceeded. Licensing within a corporate environment is per-unique-user, per-system. The unique user can be reassigned as is reasonable for typical employee turnover. However if a "floating" license is needed, where multiple people might be accessing the license on a single system, a concurrent license purchase would be required.

Is there a discount for academic use?

Yes. Fully functional discounted educational versions are available to non-profit educational institutions.
