DevExpress (Developer Express) is a software development company based in the United States. It produces coding assistance tools and components for Delphi, C++ Builder and Microsoft Visual Studio developers. The major part of its product line is VCL, .NET WinForms and ASP.NET components that replicate the UI of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications. DevExpress has won many industry awards for its products.
Microsoft Visual Basic 2017 (MS VB 2017) allows Visual Basic programmers to create Windows applications for their end users fast using the latest Visual Basic 15 version of the VB language. Visual Basic developers can extend the standard functionality available inside the Visual Basic 2017 IDE with a variety of VB 2017 add-ins and VB 2017 tools. The extensibility of Visual Basic software is one of the main reasons it has proved to be so popular with .NET developers, as Visual Basic software engineers can find VB 2017 downloads from other companies or other developers to act as a VB extension to their Visual Basic 2017 IDE.
The versatility of Visual Basic also extends to various forms of Visual Basic 2017 compatible software components. VB 2017 controls can be used to create feature rich Visual Basic user interfaces on forms and Web pages for Visual Basic apps. These Visual Basic UI controls are augmented by non-visual Visual Basic 2017 components that can help a developer add many hidden features to Visual Basic 2017 applications running in the background. These non-visual components are commonly available as a VB 2017 library, Visual Basic 2017 Class library or as a Visual Basic 2017 component.
An example of a visual VB 2017 control is the DevExpress WPF DataGrid Control, a .NET UI control that is an Outlook inspired editing and data shaping component allowing your end-users to easily manage information and display it on-screen in your project. A non-visual .NET component example is a Visual Studio 2017 compatible product that allows you to create and output files in different formats, such as: PDF, XPS, PostScript, RTF, HTML, XML to help solve file conversion and document storage needs.
A non-visual Visual Basic 2017 component example is a Visual Basic 2017 compatible product called IP*Works! that allows you to enable functions such as: sending email, transferring files, managing networks, browsing the web, consuming web services using Internet protocols such as: FTP, HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, LDAP, DNS, RSS, SMS, Jabber, SOAP, WebDav, RAS, XML and more.
The VB 2017 software products listed in this Visual Basic 2017 product gallery will allow you to save a lot of time and effort in creating your new Visual Basic 2017 app. Whether you are looking for a Visual Basic 2017 plug-in or Visual Basic 2017 utility, or you are looking for a VB 2017 control or a VB 2017 component, you will be able to find a wide variety of Visual Basic 2017 tools to help you finish your project faster. Many of the products listed here have free Visual Basic 2017 trials available as a VB 2017 download from our Visual Basic 2017 marketplace.
We also have other Visual Basic product galleries for: Visual Basic 2015, Visual Basic 2013, Visual Basic 2012, Visual Basic 2010, Visual Basic 2008, Visual Basic 2005, Visual Basic .NET and Visual Basic compatible products.
What is UWP? UWP stands for Universal Windows Platform which is a platform-homogeneous application architecture created by Microsoft and first introduced in Windows 10. The purpose of this software platform is to help develop Metro-style apps that run on both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile without the need to be re-written for each. It supports Windows application development using C++, C#, VB.NET, or XAML. The API is implemented in C++, and supported in C++, VB.NET, C#, and JavaScript. Designed as an extension to the Windows Runtime platform first introduced in Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8, the UWP allows developers to create applications that will potentially run on multiple types of devices.
The UWP is an extension of the Windows Runtime. Universal Windows apps that are created using the UWP no longer indicate having been written for a specific OS in their manifest build; instead, they target one or more device families, such as a PC, smartphone, tablet, or Xbox One, using Universal Windows Platform Bridges. These extensions allow the app to automatically utilize the capabilities that are available to the particular device it is currently running on. A universal app may run on either a mobile phone or a tablet and provide suitable experiences between the two. A universal app running on a mobile phone may start behaving the way it would if it were running on a tablet when the mobile phone is connected to a desktop computer or a suitable docking station.
