Presentation layer components implement the functionality required to allow users to interact with the application. This layer includes user interface components and UI controls as well as presentation logic components that process and manage the user interaction.
Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 (MS VB 2010) allows Visual Basic programmers to create Windows applications for their end users fast. Visual Basic developers can extend the standard functionality available inside the Visual Basic 2010 IDE with a variety of VB 2010 add-ins and VB 2010 tools. The extensibility of Visual Basic software is one of the main reasons it has proved to be so popular with .NET developers, as Visual Basic software engineers can find VB 2010 downloads from other companies or other developers to act as a VB extension to their Visual Basic 2010 IDE.
The versatility of Visual Basic also extends to various forms of Visual Basic 2010 compatible software components. VB 2010 controls can be used to create feature rich Visual Basic user interfaces on forms and Web pages for Visual Basic apps. These Visual Basic UI controls are augmented by non-visual Visual Basic 2010 components that can help a developer add many hidden features to Visual Basic 2010 applications running in the background. These non-visual components are commonly available as a VB 2010 library, Visual Basic 2010 Class library or as a Visual Basic 2010 component.
An example of a visual VB 2010 control is Spread for Windows Forms, a VB 2010 WinForm control that allows you to add both Visual Basic datagrid and Visual Basic spreadsheet functionality to your latest Visual Basic 2010 project. A non-visual Visual Basic 2010 component example is a Visual Basic 2010 compatible product called IP*Works! that allows you to enable functions such as: sending email, transferring files, managing networks, browsing the web, consuming web services using Internet protocols such as: FTP, HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, LDAP, DNS, RSS, SMS, Jabber, SOAP, WebDav, RAS, XML and more.
The VB 2010 software products listed in this Visual Basic 2010 product gallery will allow you to save a lot of time and effort in creating your new Visual Basic 2010 app. Whether you are looking for a Visual Basic 2010 plug-in or Visual Basic 2010 utility, or you are looking for a VB 2010 control or a VB 2010 component, you will be able to find a wide variety of Visual Basic 2010 tools to help you finish your project faster. Many of the products listed here have free Visual Basic 2010 trials available as a VB 2010 download from our Visual Basic 2010 marketplace.
We also have other Visual Basic product galleries for: Visual Basic 2008, Visual Basic 2005, Visual Basic .NET and Visual Basic compatible products.
What is Flex? Flex is an open source software application development framework from Adobe that allows you to create rich Internet applications (RIA). Flex was originally created by Macromedia, sometimes called Flex Server software, and both Flex 1.0 and Flex 1.5 were released by Macromedia along with the Flex Builder (IDE) and Macromedia Flash components, prior to Macromedia being acquired by Adobe. Since then Adobe has carried on with the development of the Adobe Flex platform and Adobe Flex RIA environment, with the release of Adobe Flex 2.0 in June 2006, that significantly changed the licensing and deployment model, making the adoption of Adobe Flex 2 SDK more widespread.
Adobe Flex 3.0 was released in Feb 2008 and this added Adobe AIR support for Flex developers to use inside the Flex 3 SDK . Most recently in Mar 2010, Flex 4.0 (known as project Gumbo when it was in development) was released and with this launch the Flex Builder IDE was renamed to Flash Builder.
What is a Flex component? A Flex component is a pre-built piece of software or code that you can re-use inside your Flash application or Flex app. Flex components usually have a visual interface as part of the Flex GUI (Flex Graphical User Interface) and these Flex controls or Flex widgets can be used to add additional functionality to your Flash app. For example, you can get Flex components that help you visualize your data in a map display format (Flex maps), or a Flex component that shows your data in a gauge display (Flex gauges), in fact you can build a Flash BI app (Flex Business Intelligence) or a Flex dashboard to display your data using Flash components very easily. ActionScript, the Adobe Flex scripting language, allows you to control the user interface and app behavior dynamically at run-time, giving you great flexibility to change the look and feel of your app with ActionScript based Flex components.
In this filtered view of our product catalog, you will find Flex compatible products that have been pre-built by software experts for you to re-use in your next Flex project. You can read about the products, evaluate the products using our Flex downloads, compare the Flex components and read Flex reviews from your fellow Flex programmers. If you like what you see, you can also buy and license the Flex product of your choice. Finally there is also a Flex News RSS data feed for you to subscribe to, to be kept up to date with all the new releases we add to our Flex component product catalog.
