Altova SemanticWorks is a visual RDF/OWL editor. With Altova SemanticWorks you can visually design Semantic Web instance documents, vocabularies, and ontologies then output them in either RDF/XML or N-triples formats. Altova SemanticWorks streamlines the job with tabs for classes, properties, instances, etc., context-sensitive entry helpers, and automatic format checking.

Updates in 2012

The following bug fixes are included with the 2012 release:

  • Arabic characters not accepted as class names by SemanticWorks
  • Classes in taxonomy are declared invalid
  • Enable import of RDF schema in OWL Full
  • Semantic check fails to note incorrect object property as described in tutorial
  • URIref prefixes toggles on/off spontaneously when editing file in TextView
  • Syntax and semantic check in SemanticWorks incorrectly report error on missing type in instance (OWL DL)
  • Semanticworks crashes when hitting 'del' in the instances detail view while the drop down menu to change a datatype is open
  • Export function does not check for validuty
  • Failed verification of equivalence class extension
  • rdf:XMLLiteral is not offered as datatype for a value in RDF/ OWL view. Only schema datatypes are shown.
  • owl:TransitiveProperty only permitted with OWL Full
