Aspose.Words for Reporting Services is a solution for generating true DOC, RTF and WordprocessingML reports in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Reporting Services. All RDL report features, including tables, matrices, charts and images are converted with precision to Microsoft Word documents. Microsoft Word is not required and you do not need to redesign existing reports. You can use any report designer of your choice and it fully supports almost all of the RDL specification.

What's new in Aspose.Words for Reporting Services V3?

Full support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (including tablix, richly formatted textboxes, and other features).

Document layout was improved for better balance between the precision of export and the editability of the document.

Added the PageBreaks configuration setting that allows to easily control how page breaks are inserted into the document.

The FlowMode configuration setting was dropped due to being ambiguous and unclear.

Some of configuration settings were renamed for simplicity purposes. Old names are still valid to support backward compatibility.

Items positioning was optimized in order to reduce the number of positioning tables and simplify their structure (flow layout only).

Added the ODT (OpenOffice/StarOffice OpenDocument) export format.

Based on the newest Aspose.Words for .NET 6.0.

Product's documentation was updated.

What's new in Aspose.Words for Reporting Services V2.x?

This release introduces export to flow layout documents. This means now you are able to convert RDL reports to "true", "normal", easy to edit documents as if they were created manually by an office worker. You can get documents that allow to insert paragraph breaks, contain tables crossing over pages that grow when adding contents, and so on.

Added the export to the Microsoft Office Open XML format (DOCX)

Some expressions are converted to appropriate Word fields

Textbox hyperlink actions are converted to Word hyperlinks

Report and subreport language is converted to corresponding text locale in Word document

The MSI installer's behaviour was slightly changed. Now it installs the rendering extension to all detected instances of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. Until now it only installed the product to the default instance that might confuse the users who had named instances and no default instance installed on their machine
